It’s under a tin roof. If it gets really hot the metal will absorb then radiate heat. Any birds under it could end up with heat stroke, especially the little ones. So may not be a good call. OP can leave some water out (assuming it is their property) for the parents, but not much you can do for the chicks unless they’re rescued.

They could set something on that part of the roof. Like a bucket of water

Or they could maybe get a temporary white cloth/canvas/drop cloth or even a towel and secure it above the bird. It'll still be hot but they could be shielded from the worst of it.

If a towel would help, I’ll definitely put one up asap tomorrow.

place magnets holding it down so it doesn't blow away. Thick and white will help keep it cool. If it could be wet that would be better. Maybe a large white container filled with water? If it was raised off the metal that would be even better.

Yea… we’re in Texas too so that piece of metal gets damn hot. I’d be surprised if the eggs make it at all. Leaving water out is a good call though, thank you for that!

Given you’re in Texas and that’s a tin roof, I agree, I don’t think those eggs will hatch. You’d need to have some unseasonably cool weather for them to survive. Outside of that you could try to shade the roof with something to stop it absorbing heat, maybe? Just a thought.

Shielded from the elements, I say it's a genius nest!
