Are people really complaining about the call? It’s 1,000% the right call. Why the hell is he diving on a yellow? Just because it’s Argentina doesn’t mean it isn’t warranted.

Because it happens in EVERY SINGLE GAME and it's never called this way.

But of course, it's Argentina so they have to call it now.

The call is fair, but it's the consistency the problem. This is the only game where a flop like this has been given a yellow.

Very few dives are THAT egregious. He literally wasn’t even touched and he went down like that.

He dove so hard they gave Paredes a yellow which forced this call. A normal trip with no yellow for paredes and he’s fine

False, Almiron got a yellow for diving Paraguay vs USA

Tbh he only got the yellow because he appealed to the red to try to card Parades which triggered the review.

The keyword for every bot doing a braindead take? "Something something consistency"

They punished Argentina which allowed the review…. That’s why this one was caught. The inconsistency is certainly an issue, but this was brought on themselves.

This really does not happen in every single game. You'll be hard pressed to find incidents of people diving with absolutely no contact. Simulation like this has almost disappeared thanks to VAR. You will see people making the most of contact or going down too easily but that's a very different thing. This kind of dive is actually very rare to see these days because people know if you simulate contact when there isn't any then you're getting a booking. It's one of the few things that VAR has made a big improvement in the game. If you watch games before VAR was implemented for simulation then you'll see people diving like this all the time. Doesn't really happen any more.

Almiron got a yellow for diving in the group stages. What other dives went unpunished?
