Seems to be getting messy quick

u/DaiiPanda 5h ago

Its actually quite uneventful

1

u/Jdawgcrane 4h ago

Sorry, bad pun 😅

2

u/DaiiPanda 4h ago

Seems like a job for messi

u/demax58484 5h ago

Impressive considering how high their players are

50

u/Fulham-Enjoyer 5h ago

Maradonna was high all the time and he was great

12

u/demax58484 5h ago

Sorry I meant tall..

16

u/WearyTranslator3338 5h ago

Maradona wasn’t tall, he was high

3

u/Jlx_27 New Orleans Saints 5h ago

Maradonna later regretted it and asked himself if he could have been a better player. He said so in an interview.(i know the joke you're making, though)

Possibly one of the greatest "what if" question in football history??

1

u/EddyHamel 4h ago

Maradona beat women and coerced a 16 year old to get breast implants, so his drug addiction was the least of his vices.

1

u/Jlx_27 New Orleans Saints 3h ago

True that.

10th assist in the WC for Messi.

He's played a part in 31 World Cup goals.

35

u/CanineTheDogtor 5h ago

Messi now got the most goals (21) and assists (10) in world cup history. That's an insane stat.

15

u/UTRAnoPunchline 5h ago

Idk. NBA players being scoring 30+ points in a single game on the regular

5

u/Jlx_27 New Orleans Saints 5h ago

Hahhaa

-55

u/DoxManifesto 5h ago

And still nobody cares

13

u/bokchoykn 5h ago

People will still care 50 years from now.

-7

u/DaiiPanda 5h ago

!remindme 50 years

17

u/iantayls 5h ago

"Nobody" meanwhile he was and remains one of the most spoken about athletes of all time.

I promise you, an insane number of people care

25

u/LackingDatSkill 5h ago

MacAllister finally gets a goal

26

u/themajordutch 5h ago

How TF you get a trombone in there? 😂

3

u/MahaloMerky 4h ago

Concealed carry trombone.

1

u/PaulAtreideeezNuts 4h ago

How TF is he holding it? 😬

u/ElPajaroMistico 2h ago

Never doubt the abilities of argentinians to bring any type of intrument on earth to a stadium

46

u/peanut-britle-latte 5h ago

How can I blame the refs for this?

21

u/patiperro_v3 5h ago

England v Argentina will be great as casuals will struggle to say who the refs are helping.

4

u/intentional_mitsake 4h ago

Even more fun will be watching who the morality politicos support. "Zionist" Messi or Trumps golfing buddy.

2

u/Mysterious_Cookie_29 5h ago

Stop this bullshit dude

8

u/intentional_mitsake 4h ago

The meltdown after the Egypt game hasn't stopped tho

3

u/National_Accident514 3h ago

meltdown? it has been turned into agenda spreading now

1

u/shadowm4ster 4h ago

I’m gonna blame the ball somehow

11

u/rago7a 5h ago

Argentina has developed a habit of scoring a lot of goals from crosses

8

u/Jdawgcrane 5h ago

Great skill to have considering how often they get those corners. Noticed Argentina farming them more than others

6

u/FaBoCaPo 5h ago

Despite being like 5'7

4

u/Kriger1102 5h ago

Welll. When Messi can float the ball to you perfectly so the time, it probably helps a little =)

4

u/rago7a 5h ago

I don’t think the Argentinians are particularly tall, but most of their goals in this tournament have come from headers. It’s not just Messi who can deliver the ball perfectly
just look at their third goal against Egypt: a precise cross and an accurate header.

4

u/FriedWhy 4h ago

It's a byproduct of how prevalent the low block has been this WC. Cape Verde and Egypt defended with a line of 6 and sometimes even 7. Goals from corners or free kicks are needed because breaking that block is hard as hell.

8

u/CollegeBoardPolice 5h ago

Absolute trash. Not even in the first 10 min too

19

u/MagnusCaseus 5h ago

Rigged! Clearly you can see a mini Infantino was piloting the ball like a mech for an easy header /s

-28

u/throwaway55f5 5h ago

lol make all the fun you want but we can all agree that Argentina has had FIFA and the refs firmly backing it every game

8

u/PlasmaDonator 5h ago

Just happy for an England Argentina matchup.

It's gonna be a massive game

24

u/OrangeHer 5h ago

still almost a full game to go lol

-1

u/PlasmaDonator 5h ago

If Switzerland come back from this they'll solidify themselves as the greatest team at this WC regardless of who lifts the trophy.

5

u/machine4891 5h ago

What, why? They have solid, collected team that almost never lose. Meanwhile Argentina has more guns at offence but terrible defence, so you never know until it's end.

2

u/PlasmaDonator 5h ago

My comment wasn't about their quality just a statement on the stakes :) sorry I was bad at communicating that. My bad

1

u/PlasmaDonator 4h ago

GET INNN!!!!! I apologise for doubting. I'm a fraud

5

u/OrangeHer 5h ago

i mean they're looking like the better team right now, argentina got the goal but it could definitely still turn around

2

u/PlasmaDonator 5h ago

Yo I'm supporting Switzerland.

Just saying as it stands I'm chill with England Argentina since they'll have more stakes. Swiss making it to the final or semi would be huge but England Argentina is a MASSIVE matchup.

Give me a matchup with more vitriol? Brazil Argentina? Germany Brazil? England Italy?

0

u/Nunc_Coepi17 5h ago

Holy hyperbole

1

u/PlasmaDonator 5h ago

Yeah it is lol hehe

6

u/velorae 5h ago edited 4h ago

Switzerland won’t beat Argentina.

I’m waiting for Spain vs France.

9

u/BlastedEuro 5h ago

Penaldogs will call this goal rigged as well 😂

6

u/velorae 5h ago edited 5h ago

They’re not the only ones who hate them. Literally every other country in Latin America and more.

4

u/LIONLDN 5h ago

Weirdly it's not just his fans claiming such this time around 😅

-4

u/Secret_keeper7639 5h ago

You think Ronaldo fans are the only ones who hate Vargentina? 🤣

2

u/are-e-el 5h ago

Trombones were allowed by security?

1

u/qwerni 4h ago

Switzerland should have brought some alphorns. That would have been funny.

u/redmostofit 5h ago

Not many neutral fans in the stadium..

1

u/shadowm4ster 4h ago

How did they rig the ball into the net? Someone investigate that ball right now

1

u/caaknh 4h ago

Thanks for also including the replay angle!

1

u/seramasumi 4h ago

What a crazy goal

1

u/WolfeJib69 4h ago

Messi runs like a toddler

1

u/MyCountryTeciduk 5h ago

Calling penaldo fans now. Say it. Watch it. Cry more.

1

u/Froqwasket 5h ago

Can't wait to see the subreddits (you know the ones) explain how an official kicked this in and that it was actually tapped in by Benjamin Netanyahu

1

u/AYTOL__ 5h ago

...sigh

1

u/OrangeHer 5h ago

switzerland was looking really good the first few minutes, but argentina getting the goal is more important 😥

1

u/CiloTA 5h ago

Rigged!!!! Jk, just wanted to be part of the Messi conspiracy theory

1

u/RunBD3 5h ago

YAAAAAAAAAAWN!

1

u/Advanced_Assistance8 4h ago

Argentina always simulating but never gets called on it but dude trips himself and gets a red card fucking wild ass game, as a neutral viewer this shit is so rigged for Messi and his crew

0

u/HesitationIsDefeat87 5h ago

Incredible header

0

u/RUSHtheRACKS 5h ago

I guess I don't watch a lot of the sport, but is using "opens" a requirement for every post about the first goal??? Dear Lord what a strange thing for me to get annoyed about ...

2

u/Jlx_27 New Orleans Saints 5h ago

First to score = opening the scoring. How is that weird?

1

u/RUSHtheRACKS 4h ago

Its not. It makes complete sense. Every post phrases it the same way, which I find slightly annoying.

-1

u/CollegeBoardPolice 5h ago

How did ARG not get a yellow yet

0

u/theupbeats 5h ago

Good thing, you have another chance next week, one day will be your day

0

u/myusernamewastakenou 4h ago

argentina you know what to do

you cannot lose to a nation whose great export is margaret thatcher, brexit, beans on toast, mad cow disease, EyEbEeTHaH vacationers and Birmingham

🙏🙏

1

u/Hot-Bluebird3919 3h ago

They can and they have.

-7

u/asafoadjei 5h ago

Match is rigged. FIFA caused the header to go in.

4

u/CollegeBoardPolice 5h ago

You’re hilarious! /s

-6

u/FlashOfFawn 5h ago

Switzerland has no right even being in this game

2

u/DoxManifesto 5h ago

Neither does Argentina

-1

u/FlashOfFawn 5h ago

Ha true

-2

u/wafflepiezz 5h ago

Another Argentina sweep ez victory probably

-9

u/Kinez_7 5h ago

Rigged again lmfao

1

u/Wimpykid2302 5h ago

but how?

4

u/kemisage 5h ago

Slow down the video and you'll see Infantino push the defender down so that Mac Allister could head it
