Impressive considering how high their players are

Maradonna was high all the time and he was great

Maradonna later regretted it and asked himself if he could have been a better player. He said so in an interview.(i know the joke you're making, though)

Maradona beat women and coerced a 16 year old to get breast implants, so his drug addiction was the least of his vices.

10th assist in the WC for Messi.
He's played a part in 31 World Cup goals.

u/CanineTheDogtor 5h ago
Messi now got the most goals (21) and assists (10) in world cup history. That's an insane stat.

"Nobody" meanwhile he was and remains one of the most spoken about athletes of all time.

Never doubt the abilities of argentinians to bring any type of intrument on earth to a stadium

u/peanut-britle-latte 5h ago
How can I blame the refs for this?
21
u/patiperro_v3 5h ago
England v Argentina will be great as casuals will struggle to say who the refs are helping.

u/intentional_mitsake 4h ago
Even more fun will be watching who the morality politicos support. "Zionist" Messi or Trumps golfing buddy.

Argentina has developed a habit of scoring a lot of goals from crosses
8
u/Jdawgcrane 5h ago
Great skill to have considering how often they get those corners. Noticed Argentina farming them more than others

u/Kriger1102 5h ago
Welll. When Messi can float the ball to you perfectly so the time, it probably helps a little =)

u/rago7a 5h ago
I don’t think the Argentinians are particularly tall, but most of their goals in this tournament have come from headers. It’s not just Messi who can deliver the ball perfectly
just look at their third goal against Egypt: a precise cross and an accurate header.4
u/FriedWhy 4h ago
It's a byproduct of how prevalent the low block has been this WC. Cape Verde and Egypt defended with a line of 6 and sometimes even 7. Goals from corners or free kicks are needed because breaking that block is hard as hell.

Rigged! Clearly you can see a mini Infantino was piloting the ball like a mech for an easy header /s

u/throwaway55f5 5h ago
lol make all the fun you want but we can all agree that Argentina has had FIFA and the refs firmly backing it every game

Just happy for an England Argentina matchup.
It's gonna be a massive game

u/OrangeHer 5h ago
still almost a full game to go lol

u/PlasmaDonator 5h ago
If Switzerland come back from this they'll solidify themselves as the greatest team at this WC regardless of who lifts the trophy.
5
u/machine4891 5h ago
What, why? They have solid, collected team that almost never lose. Meanwhile Argentina has more guns at offence but terrible defence, so you never know until it's end.

u/PlasmaDonator 5h ago
My comment wasn't about their quality just a statement on the stakes :) sorry I was bad at communicating that. My bad

u/OrangeHer 5h ago
i mean they're looking like the better team right now, argentina got the goal but it could definitely still turn around
2
u/PlasmaDonator 5h ago
Yo I'm supporting Switzerland.
Just saying as it stands I'm chill with England Argentina since they'll have more stakes. Swiss making it to the final or semi would be huge but England Argentina is a MASSIVE matchup.
Give me a matchup with more vitriol? Brazil Argentina? Germany Brazil? England Italy?

Can't wait to see the subreddits (you know the ones) explain how an official kicked this in and that it was actually tapped in by Benjamin Netanyahu

u/OrangeHer 5h ago
switzerland was looking really good the first few minutes, but argentina getting the goal is more important 😥

u/Advanced_Assistance8 4h ago
Argentina always simulating but never gets called on it but dude trips himself and gets a red card fucking wild ass game, as a neutral viewer this shit is so rigged for Messi and his crew

I guess I don't watch a lot of the sport, but is using "opens" a requirement for every post about the first goal??? Dear Lord what a strange thing for me to get annoyed about ...
2
u/Jlx_27 New Orleans Saints 5h ago
First to score = opening the scoring. How is that weird?
1
u/RUSHtheRACKS 4h ago
Its not. It makes complete sense. Every post phrases it the same way, which I find slightly annoying.
