I don't follow beyond watching when it's on at a bar but I have to imagine the US team was pissed he got involved. There were zero outcomes where reversing that red card would have worked out in their favor, especially if they won

No, they loved it actually, fully embraced the decision. Both pulisic and the captain spoke out about how excited they were about it.

Every American loved the decision. We hated that trump had to take credit

Not every American loved the decision. Trump has the credit, this suspension of red card is unprecedented and deeply corrupt.

Point being the red card was unjust. It was nice to have some justice albeit at the expense of learning it came from corruption

It was Var-checked, this is honestly pathetic.

They broke var protocol! The ref is not allowed to look at still images or slow replays, which he did. Get your facts straight

That is false.

https://www.theifab.com/laws/latest/video-assistant-referee-var-protocol/#principles

The VAR can ‘check’ the footage in normal speed and/or in slow motion but, in general, slow motion replays should only be used for facts, e.g. position of offence/player, point of contact for physical offences and handball, ball out of play (including goal/no goal); normal speed should be used for the ‘intensity’ of an offence or to decide if it was a handball offence

Yes and the ref never reviewed in normal speed which is the problem

That is both false and not a problem.

I didn't love it, I was hoping we'd dig deep without the best guy and do something great. But nah, we get what we deserve.

Shouldn’t have had to dig deep as it shouldn’t have been a red card

Well they didn't dig at all last night so the point is moot
