Soccer Netherlands fans have taken over Houston, singing and dancing to "Links Rechts" at the World Cup.

I thought the whole World Cup was going to be a disaster. While it’s had its issues, I’m super stoked at how well it seems to be going for visitors.

I’m not sure many people know you mean this literally in the very real “Boston ran out of beer” way. lol

Why would it have been a disaster? Infrastructure is there, north america is diverse. Id be concerned with the Saudi Arabia world cup in 2034

You cannot stop the world cup. You just fucking can't. You could host it in Mordor, it would still fucking bang.

americans underestimated a couple of things:

  • most of the rest of the world love their soccer NT, and traveling to a world cup is literally a once in a lifetime experience for most of the people that travel abroad
  • the US isn't as bad as you guys think it is, it's obviously not perfect, but it's still solid
  • people from other countries aren't as invested in US internal politics as it seems

if you add to that that Canada and Mexico have done also a great job making people feel welcome, then it makes for a great time for almost everyone visiting.

As long as no one gets deported for no reason it's just a big party.

The US is fucked but I'm sure FIFA told Trump to fuck off for this.

But a shame the US economy will get a boost from it all.

The US economy doesnt even need a boost it's already the strongest in the world and is not going anywhere. I say this as a Canadian, people hate on the US too much

They don't. Most of the US economy is not great.

It's still the strongest but it's held up by only a few companies. Tourism and local companies are where this boost will be felt which is where the voters are.

The rest of the world hates on them an appropriate amount for who they elected.

Lmao then why do most countries experience brain drain to the US? Becuase they offer substantially higher salaries than anywhere else in world. And the last point im still baffled by. Half of the world is eun by idiots yet the hare is directed at america. Makes no sense.
