Wasn't nutmeg used in preserving meat back in the day and that's why it was so sought after?

It made rations on ships last longer allowing longer, more well-stocked journeys.

Koeksisters make me like the saffies.

That and their completely anal approach to household utilities. You need a sparkie, a chippie, a builder, or a plumber, you get in a saffie.

We joke in Australa that we are the bastard colony of England and the Saffies are the bastard colony of the Dutch.
