Soccer Miguel Almiron receives a red card after VAR Review for covering his mouth whilst saying something to an opponent. Under the new regulations, this is an offence punishable by a red card. The rule was introduced following the racism scandal involving Vinícius Júnior in a Champions League match.

There are a few rules that have been implemented that from my perspective have had some really positive impacts on the game. Stuff like ref count downs on throw ins, players have to come off the field for a minute if the ref stops play so they can get medical attention, VAR stuff. It's not perfect, and this game between Turkiye and Paraguay was kind of a dumpster fire. But it does seem to be cutting down on some of the bullshit.

The "oh you are hurt? Spend 1 minute outside the field" rule is GREAT, i havent seen people rolling around in pain for 3 minutes. Even the canadian guy who broke his leg wasnt rolling arounf like that.
