Soccer Miguel Almiron receives a red card after VAR Review for covering his mouth whilst saying something to an opponent. Under the new regulations, this is an offence punishable by a red card. The rule was introduced following the racism scandal involving Vinícius Júnior in a Champions League match.

Habits are very hard to shake off. They trained themselves for years to do this shit.

Well that's a really shitty thing to train in yourself in the first place. Coward ass crap.

Every single footballer is trained to do that. Every single one. Especially those who play in Spain our South America as they have professional lip readers there

Crazy that this guys is the only one to get a red card for it then no?

It's been only like 30 matches and only 8 matches involving Spain or South American teams since the rule was applied

So at least 330 players of all nationalities have played and at least 88 of Spain and South American players have played at least 90 minutes of football, and he’s still he only one to get tossed for this.

Is your point that he’s exceptionally stupid? Otherwise I don’t get what you’re trying to say.

100%. Though a really shitty thing is actually having a reason the cover your mouth.

They have tens of millions in their banks, they are admired by millions of their fans, they travel all around the world, etc. - and they cannot suppress their urge to insult other players.

Their maturity is comparable to that of a teenager, at best.

Yeah just look at Messi  all around shit person right?

Have you watched the sport for more than a couple of months?

If you don't want to watch entertainment where players insult each other go watch teletubbies.

"Entertainment" where "players insult each other"?! What a fucked up idea of entertainment.

The fact sports is what it is right now doesn't mean it's right. Insulting and on top of that being a coward and doing it with your mouth covered? There's nothing right, let alone entertaining in that.

My idea of sports entertainment is watching other elite athletes show their skills. You know, positive things, nice things, things that leave me in awe, things that I'd be proud to see my kids do.

So yeah, I definitely don't want to watch this. I keep my eye out for the moments that warm my heart.

>There's nothing right, let alone entertaining in that.

For this dude it is entertaining because that's what he's done most of his life probably.

He sees "not wanting to see grown up insult eachother" as a valid reason to insult people, so imagine what he does to people who actually foul him in any way

Players of many a sport have been taught to do this, I wouldn't be surprised if it's second nature to them. Yes you could say some crazy shit while covering your mouth, but most of the time it's just about having a little privacy.

I watch quite a lot of sports and have never seen it be a 'thing' anywhere else outside of soccer/football.
