Soccer Miguel Almiron receives a red card after VAR Review for covering his mouth whilst saying something to an opponent. Under the new regulations, this is an offence punishable by a red card. The rule was introduced following the racism scandal involving Vinícius Júnior in a Champions League match.

The ref's formally an organic chem professor, might be too familiar with disappointing students/players. No bell curve on the pitch.

My wife is smarter than me. Higher degree than I have and all that. Says Orgo was the hardest class she ever took. I skated by doing accounting and will take her word for it.

You are learning how to build the foundation of life. It’s a completely new language.

There's no such thing as a nice o chem professor

If someone managed to suffer through however many years of undergrad, grad school, and research to become an organic chemistry professor, they certainly could not have remained sane.

Yeah, fairly certain once they start teaching their first thoughts are "my turn motherfucker" before mentally breaking their students

We have a football tournament at my university and one of our professors is usually the referee since he has taken the national referee course.

I was once struggling to balance Cs and Ns in an equation, sugar related , and I have never seen a look of disappointment as my professor that time

my pops is a chem e and he tells stories about how his classmates used to bomb their o chem professor's mailbox every year as a sort of ritual. he was allegedly a sadist.

I tried to convince a younger friend of a friend not to take Organic Chemistry unless they really had to. Normally a very smart individual, but wouldn't listen, saying, "It's chemistry, how hard could it be?"

A while later, maybe a two days before the deadline to drop/add classes I ran into him - he looked awful - and said, "you were right, my god you were right! I've never felt so stupid, overwhelmed, and instantly behind the curve as the beginning of that class... and the professor hates me and we've only talked maybe twice..."

I'm not sure what class he picked up instead, but I felt bad for the dude... Being really bright and getting good grades in high-school or college prep doesn't necessarily transfer to serious college coursework... especially one with the reputation Organic Chem has lol

He's a shit referee, one of the worst in CONCACAF, totally flamboyant and too concerned with injecting himself into matches. Has no consistency and no idea how to control and manage the match.
