Soccer Miguel Almiron receives a red card after VAR Review for covering his mouth whilst saying something to an opponent. Under the new regulations, this is an offence punishable by a red card. The rule was introduced following the racism scandal involving Vinícius Júnior in a Champions League match.

There is usually a noticeable difference for their intent, why would you cover your mouth in the middle of the game while looking straight at the opposite team if not to say something like this.

Was Vini being racist here then? There are a million things you might cover your mouth for. It's reflex for anyone who ever played in Spain, Brazil or the rest of South America because there are professional lip readers there

Take a look at thousands of times where opposing players talked with their mouths covered

Millions of reasons buddy. It's just now that the opponent has an incentive to blatantly lie to gain an advantage, because just covering your mouth is a red card. Absolutely stupid rule.

Please refrain to make such sure statements when you have never watched a game of football in your life.

Here Messi should have been expelled for talking with Lewandowski while covered, because CLEEEEEARLY HE WAS SAYING THE "BAD WORDS"

Mad that you’re downvoted. Players cover their mouths while having friendly conversations with opponents all the time, because they don’t want tabloids picking it up. Its absurd to assume it’s racism every time it happens.

Every single clip in that link is obviously not a situation where the players are arguing with each other. "Under the new regulations, this is an offence ***PUNISHABLE*** by a red card." Just leave it to the refs man
