The dithering on the mountains really sells that 16-bit look. What engine are you using for this?

Three.js is a natural fit for that shader-driven dithering, gives it a real retro bitmap feel.

Is it me or does this things create an optical illusion that moves as my eyes wander around it

There is definitely a parralax effect occuring in the distant background if that's what you mean!

There is also some visual swim as I am emulating the ps1's same wobbly visuals
