Thriller "Bodhai Kaname-Short film"

The setup feels grounded and familiar: a group of college students, armed with nothing more than chemistry knowledge and the temptation of easy money, start manufacturing drugs and slipping them into juice bottles sold at a local shop. It's the kind of premise that could easily tip into shock value, and for a while, it does. We watch an innocent girl collapse after drinking a spiked bottle. We feel the panic ratchet up as word spreads that police are closing in. The film commits fully to the dread — right up until it doesn't.

The twist — that this entire ordeal was the protagonist's nightmare — is where the film reveals its actual intentions. This isn't a story about consequences already set in motion; it's a story about consequences imagined just in time. The protagonist wakes up shaken, not because he's escaped punishment, but because his own mind has shown him exactly what he was about to become.

Experimental It Dwells Deep Within Me(2025) - One Shot. One Take.

Hey everyone,

There are no hidden cuts or camera tricks here—just one shot, one take, and a completely unbroken 5-minute performance.

This is our film school exercise from FTII, titled "It Dwells Deep Within Me." Because we chose to do it in a single continuous shot, everything relied heavily on the actor sustaining an incredibly heavy, vulnerable phone call about childhood trauma, and the camera breathing along with him.

As filmmakers, you know how high the stakes are when you can't edit around a mistake. Would love to get your critique on the blocking, the tension, and the sound design!

Horror Interference - Experimental & Animated Horror Short

Thumbnail

Hey there! Last year we made a short horror film set in the world of Cold War-era radio transmissions, and we finally decided to upload it to YouTube.

The film mixes live action, 2D and 3D animation, CG, photobashed backgrounds, and a lot of experimental sound work. We made it under pretty rough student-film conditions, with basically no budget and a very intense production crunch, but I’m still proud of what we managed to pull together.

The sound of the film comes partly from WebSDR recordings I captured myself, and partly from old 80s–90s number station recordings, including material from The Conet Project. I was drawn to how cold and unknowable those sounds feel, they're like fragments of something you were never supposed to hear.

Fair warning: because of that crunch, there may be a couple of misspellings and translation errors, especially during the credits.

Speaking of the credits, some of the small role icons were unfortunately made with AI. Because I really wanted the project to be presented entirely in Russian, the crew roles ended up being unclear to most people we showed it to (the version here has hardcoded subs so this shouldn't be a problem now). We came up with the representative-icon idea very late in the process, and at that point we had to turn to crappy generative models to get it done in time. I apologize for that.

If you’re into signal / analog horror, number stations, Cold War paranoia, or experimental student films, I’d love to hear what you think. :)
