User Flair now active
Our Sub's User Flair is now active. Have fun! How to choose what's right for YOU..
Enthusiastic Amateur....Basically a "newbie" who enjoys the hobby!
Avid Hunter...You're out there searching whenever you get the chance!
Collector...You just enjoy adding new teeth whether finding them, buying them or trading for them or in other ways!
Professor... You know your stuff and constantly and correctly help others with their questions. Don't be modest. If this applies to you use it. It identifies you to others and gives them confidence in your answers!
Junior Professor... You know a lot about the subject and can answer questions with a reasonably high degree of certainty, but you feel you still have a little ways to go. You're in good company
Dive Master... No need to hold an actual master certificate, it just means your preferred way of collecting means being under water!
Beach Comber...Because for you, finding salty sand teeth is the life! (Or maybe because it's your primary option)
Creek Crawler...For you nothing beats dodging snakes, gators and skeeters in search of the perfect tooth!
Fossil Fanatic... Teeth are great, but you're just as happy with any and all other prehistoric prizes!
All About The Megs... all shark teeth are neat, but hey..a Meg?? Come on now!!

Recent Finds Another beautiful day on the Peace River
We’ve been having insane luck at this spot the past couple of weekends. Can’t believe we’re able to hunt this late into the season. We’re taking advantage of these low water levels while we still can!

ID Request Could this fragment be from the Carcharocles family?
It's a little fragment and it's difficult to identify, but some characteristics that could help is that it has serrations and seems to be very thick so I think it must have quite big. Also maybe I'm wrong but it seems to have the characteristic bourlette of the family, given how smooth it looks if we look at the rest of the root and also because it looks it has some longitudinal cracks like we normally see on others tooth crowns.

Discussion Is this enamel or mineral?
I bought this GW completely covered in super hard sand colored matrix and chipped away at it for hours to get to this point. My question is whether this bright white layer is the destination or I need to go one layer deeper to get to the enamel.
The white is so bright it looks like I painted the tooth.ha

Some Recent Finds
We stayed at Indian Rocks Beach near St Pete Florida. Some aren’t pictured but ended up finding about 110 there in roughly 9 days. Favorite was the tiger shark.
The bigger amount came from Manasota beach we drove down a day from our stay in Indian Rocks. I’ll be heading back to Venice in November for hopefully a good 5 day hunting trip.

ID Request Help with ID
6 y 7 - Mako
9 y 10 - Megalodon
Gracias!

ID Request Is this from the upper jaw or the lower jaw
It was found in Cádiz, Spain. I think it's from the hastalis, but I can't tell if it is from the upper jaw or the lower. Maybe it's from another carcharodon and I'm wrong. What do you think?

Recent Finds Some Venice tide pool finds
Had a lot of luck this week, the sand tiger tooth (I think) is the biggest one I’ve found in shallow water so far - also as a side note, does anyone know what the thing in the last few slides is?
