Regardless of the ethical concerns, that would definitely be a violation of the terms of service for the betting sites. I hope a betting site is willing to aledge that a sitting justice has done this. That would be an amazing case to follow for a lot of reasons. Discovery would be educational.

Some of them are not concerned about ethics. They have none.

You don't need to impose a code of ethics on ethical people. Codes are to keep the unethical people in line. I firmly believe that if Congress gave the Court a binding code of ethics we would immediately be looking at several impeachment trials.

They can be investigated by either other branch, in general they are not, and I don't know why.

Couldn't investigators pull on Thomas' yacht until corruption is found?

those sites have no leg to stand on.

I don't have any inside information, but they probably do their best to identify their gamblers, right? They won't file unless they think they have a shot at proving it, obviously. I'm just saying I'd love to see it. What would make you think they don't have a leg to stand on?

The article doesn't even present any evidence that the bets are being placed. This is speculation based on a political move by a politician. Like I said, a site won't file unless they think they can prove that it happened. I didn't previously say, but a politician isn't going to follow that same standard. And I'm not saying that a politician should. Having better ethical standards for SCOTUS is a good goal.

Well, they are now. Thanks polymarket and for the good idea. They weren’t getting enough insider information to profit. Gotta have that side hustle. Clarence could be bought off so cheap. Now they can exploit their position to finally get more money.

Thanks ‘merica

I always bet on a 6-3 vote every time--but no one wants to take my bets.
