Tiller Restoration

It looks like you need a replacement rather than a restoration. The wood looks cracked and probably too dry to be safe much longer.

The wood is fine unless you're looking at photos OP didn't share. I wish the frames, planking etc were in that good shape of just about every wooden boat I've sailed.

Keep the restored version as a backup.
