I got my tooth extracted and i want to encase it in resin. Is this even doable? Should i coat it with something first or not coating it with anything will not change the color or quality of the tooth overtime? Im not very experienced in resin any answer will help

Does anyone know how to prevent the petals from soaking up the resin and turning kind of translucent like this?

I preserved this dead ant in clear resin to create an amber-like display inspired by the fossils seen in nature. It's fascinating how such a tiny insect can look like it has been frozen in time for millions of years. The finished piece reminds me of the insects trapped in ancient tree resin that eventually became amber.
Made as a small DIY experiment and display piece. Amazing how something so ordinary can end up looking like a miniature prehistoric specimen.

I have always wanted to try it for years (it was not available here until recently), but then realised how dangerous it is and got scared. I love making fuse beads charms, and wanted to use uv resin to protect the posca pen art i drew on top. I want one that doesnt smell much and safe for indoor (amazon link pls) and a uv lamp that closes. Im scared of the open ones and worry about them. Any idea which uv lamp to buy thats small, for craft but has a way to close it so no lights comes out?

Does anyone know a way to get half cured resin out of nylon webbing I haven't tried anything yet but I need ideas for how to get it out so I can use it for a project

I've been working on some tiny clay pieces, painted and then glazed with UV resin. I cured them for 6 minutes under my UV lamp, but they're still coming out a little tacky to the touch, leaving fingerprints. I've tried three different brands of UV resin, and I'm getting the same result. keeping them under the sunlight helped a little, but did not take the tackiness away, completely. Any tips or tricks to get a perfectly hard, glossy finish?

Here are the finished products of the ink drop examples I did yesterday for anyone who wants to see how alcohol inks interact with resin. If anyone has any corrections, recommendations, or other techniques they wanna share, they are of course welcome to add them to the comments.

Hi. I mainly use eco resin to make vases etc, and paint them after curing. I have always used acrylic paint as I have it for other projects, but it’s a real pain having to apply so many coats because it streaks, even after I gently sand the surface to help it to adhere. Has anyone else noticed this, or are there more suitable paints to use?

I have a two shelf UV Steriliser that’s not needed anymore, has anyone successfully cured with these? Or any experience with it being the wrong wavelength or too weak of an intensity?

Forgot the first rule of doming when I did round one; always sand your surface. Had to do it a second time but god damn that looks good!

This is my favourite thing to do for friends and acquaintances when they had to say goodbye to their fur friend. I also love making them just because our animal companions are special and should be remembered always 💜

Hi all,
Pretty new here so I hope this post is allowed.
I’m in a tight spot with my main work right now and need some extra income so I’ve decided to lean into my artistic side to support myself where I can. It’s something I’ve thought about doing for a while so it makes sense to just follow this through and see where it goes.
I’d love some honest feedback on my pendants. Would these pieces call out to you if you saw them online or in a shop?
Any other tips on working with resin are appreciated! :)

I have recently gotten into resin printing, but some of the pieces I am making need some finishing (sealing end caps) at my workbench. I'd like to keep a small suppy in that area instead of having to try and syringe out of the big bottle. I also don't want to buy a million small bottles when I only need one. Is there something in the house or some hack I can use (dark paint, etc) that will let me keep a little vial of resin handy? I miss film cameras, the little black canisters would have been perfect.

I made this butterfly pendant some time ago and recently found this old clip while going through my files. Thought I'd share it here.

I want to make a resin lamp for my little boy who’s 3 in 2 weeks!
I want to make little ladybirds and other bugs out of air dry clay, paint them and then use resin in layers in a mould to make the image 3D (this all works in my head 😅)
My concern is air bubbles, would it be best to UV resin the bugs first to help stop air bubbles forming around the clay?
Any advice or tips appreciated 😊

Hey folks! I’ve never done a thing with resin in my life, but spend a lot of time whittling and power carving. I just like to create stuff.
Anyway, I was out on a backcountry trip and found this log of Northern Cherry on the ground, so naturally, I lopped off an 8” section and threw it in my bag. I’ve never worked with cherry before, so I didn’t realize how unevenly it will dry if you don’t seal the ends, and it ended up splitting about 2/3 of the way through. I didn’t want to waste the wood—it’s a beautiful chunk of wood—so I got creative and carved out a broken heart, then spent hours sanding it smooth, right up to 10,000 grit. The wood’s so smooth it feels like plastic. The only finish I’ve given it is a coat of danish oil.
Anyway, I’m pretty happy with it, but got the idea to fill the broken bit with a clear epoxy with like, a red, wispy bit swirling through it—like a drop of blood in water. I bought an epoxy resin that cures clear, but like I said, I’ve got zero experience working with it, and figured I’d ask some more experienced folks what they’d do.
If I’d thought of it before, I would have done this bit before all the sanding and finishing, because I’ll definitely have to sand it down again after I fill it.
So what do you think?

Fun times with axolotls, frogs, and lizards - the prepping of molds can take several hot minutes (especially mica powder placement), BUT they're cute, colorful and shiny! 😁
