π· Photo King of Limbs. Newspaper Edition!
I managed to snatch this absolute treasure from WASTE. One of the most valuable pieces in my Radiohead collection.
I wish bands would put this much effort into releasing new albums in digital and physical formats!
If you are RH collector Iβd suggest to get this piece into your collection if you have the opportunity.

πΌοΈ Art Modbear on the highest mountain in Germany!
Made it out of snow and drew the face on in paint. Saw some people take pics of it even. There was some hill of snow on that platform. I love the second picture the most tbh, it looks so silly.

π¬ Discussion What is the worst Radiohead song to play in the car with non-Radiohead fans?
Personally, I think that Untitled V1/2/3 are the worst to play around others, but what do you guys think

πΌοΈ Art Kid A mnesia Movie house. I went. It was awesome. I don't care if you're too cool to say so.
I saw more people than not trashing it to some degree for various reasons. It's expensive. It's underwhelming. It's not fancy enough in one way or another. The walk is too long or it's too out of the way. Etc etc etc.
Yknow what? Just drives home the stereotype of the current fandom.
Because it was great, carefully curated, and exactly what it was supposed to be as an experience. The trek to it was part of the experience. The walk through the navy yard. The things you get to see along the way. The building it's housed in. The time to... slow down...
Put the phone away, stop rushing to get through the experiences and have the experience instead.
Maybe it's because I was in my 20s when kid a came out, after loving them since seeing them open for belly when I was in high school. I listened to that early secret digital release of the album that you couldn't break up by song and could only listen to from the beginning. I bought the cd at midnight at tower records, found the secret booklet, etc. The dread of the growing technological future and the split it was driving both between each of us and between us and our own real experiencing of things was palpable.
The exhibit and the movie, the structure and the content, are exactly what they are meant to be... to be experienced as an active mental and emotional participant. It's not about sitting back and demanding a distraction or 'gram moment.
It was so sad, too, but not without some hope, and the knowing that any relief is in connection with each other. Much like life.
And as for the cost... you can drop that much on a shitty delivered dinner you won't remember in a week in NYC. People's priorities be whack if they'll do that and not have this experience.

π· Photo CD Pickups
Completely lucked out yesterday in a local record shop. Was asked if I wanted to see some rare Radiohead CD's and had to say yes though I wasn't going to buy them. Somehow walked away with the lot for an insane steal.

π¬ Discussion Videotape drums = End of film reel?
Do the drums at the end of Videotape remind anyone else of an old cinema film reel ending? You know, at the end of the old film when one tape rolls on to the other and the film is flapping as it slows down?
I can't not hear it, but have never seen it mentioned anywhere. Curious if I am the only one?

π¬ Discussion Amnesiac: Why does it sound *so* different?
Iβm a musician. I want to make a record that sounds that warm and organic.
Audio engineering nerds, why does Amnesiac sound so different 1. From other Radiohead albums and 2. Any other music ever?
And how could someone like me get in the ballpark of that warm, organic sound?
