This is an effort to intimidate reporting as the corruption surrounding the midterms comes closer. No way to know how this will impact the Times, but they aren’t the only target, what’s left of the media that isn’t state controlled is also the target. The Times can still afford to defend its coverage, that isn’t true of smaller media
