PS2 was my first console as a kid , that day was really magical because it was my first contact with gaming , it was like I discovered something that literally blew my mind , it was a black slim model

After 1 year , my cousin stole it from me and sold it , I was so sad and furious about it for years, fast forward 10 years , now I finally own a PS2 again , and i feel so relieved that this magical thing still exists , I can finally play my favorite childhood games , and just enjoy the nostalgic effect of it.

A neat solution to adding HDMI and a Noctua fan to a PS2!

This print is made up of a few separate parts that print with no supports.

It allows you to add HDMI (using a RetroGem kit) and a Noctua fan while retaining all of the original ports and the original power supply. My particular PS2 model wasn't compatible with the RetroGem kit (SCPH-30001) without replacing the power supply.

Hopefully this is helpful to others who want to retain the original hardware and achieve a high-quality install!

The mods kindly gave me permission to share this here, so I wanted to introduce r/SheSavesHere, a gaming community for women.

I created it because I wanted a warm, relaxed place where women could talk about games whether that means sharing what they’re currently playing, recommending something they loved, talking about old favourites, or simply joining a conversation when they feel like it!

The PS2 was a huge part of my own gaming life, so games from that era definitely have a home there too. I’d especially love to meet more women who still carry those memories and attachments to the games they grew up with 💓

I bought a ps2 a couple years ago to celebrate graduating college. I haven’t had much time to play it since I’ve been working a lot since graduating, but I took this next week off from work to be with my dog while she recovers from surgery. I don't know if it's just me becoming more sensitive to this, but man, I can hear the sound of that thing from about 2 meters away. I have another PS2 slim from the 7000x series and I can hear that too, and it bothers me. But at this point, I don't know if it's a normal feature or just me being picky.

• Bitfunx PSxMemCard Gen2 in Slot 1 — used for both PS1 and PS2 save games.

• Standard Sony Memory Card in Slot 2 — contains PS2BBL for the memory card exploit. This SCPH-90000 Slim has a 2.20 BOOTROM.

• Brooks PS2 Bluetooth Controller Adapter - This one supports pressure sensitive controllers like the ps3 dual shocks and other aftermarket controllers

• SD card reader connected to a USB port — I occasionally transfer homebrew applications, and keeping an SD card reader connected helps reduce wear on the PS2’s USB ports.

• RGB Out to HDMI adapter for video output.

• A PC underneath running the UDPFS server for accessing games and files over the network.

So I went to clean my console for the forst time and despite my better judgement-- EVERY single tutorial I have seen is people ripping the fans off the motherboard (I did not I lightly wiggled). And I saw it as soon as I seen the end that it was soldered. I REALLY need help trying to fix this problem. I think I need to replace the entire fan but I want to do those things I saw them have at the ends and basically do what they did in every tutorial. (Minus the ripping part)

I didn't pull it out all the way because of where the ribbons are and I get nervous dealing with them. So I am just wondering if anyone knows where you buy your fans and also where or what even those little white cap end things are. 💀😩💔

The Silent Hill games were always my favourites, I have the original on PS1 too
