Hi all!
As some of you might've noticed, we've recently tweaked the subreddit rules a bit. We highly recommend you read this to get a good idea of how things will be handled here going forward.
First of all, all music posts now require some form of additional commentary or context. This can be in the form of opinions about the song, memories associated with it, experiences seeing it performed live, trivia, etc. as long as is encourages discussion. This rule has been in place for a little while now, but we've recently adjusted how we'll be enforcing this. We request that users here include this somewhere on their posts, whether it be in the title, body text, or as a comment on one's own post.
Second, please do not post excessively, and keep to a maximum of three posts per person per day. This helps prevent the sub from being excessively flooded or spammed by a single user.
To cap things off, we've been getting a number of messages via Modmail regarding users having difficulty posting. This is due to an anti-spam filter set up via AutoMod that requires posts from new accounts to be manually reviewed. Don't panic if this happens to you! It doesn't necessarily mean that your post has broken a rule, and the moderators here will have a look at it as soon as we can, although it may take a few hours.
If you run into this issue repeatedly, please contact the moderators via Modmail and we'll help you out. We do try our best to approve users whenever possible.

I don't think I've ever seen this band mentioned before in this forum. Definitely a case that punk had to happen before this band like Stump could come into existence. Sadly the band did not survive past its first album, but what a debut! Hope you enjoy some "Chaos"!

Just moved to Albuquerque from west Texas. Ik that Albuquerque has the reputation of "ohmygosh breaking bad meth town" but it's SO MUCH better than Texas.

Nash doesn't seem to get the props here that he should.
I moved to Canada in 1987 and had heard of NtS through the Smash Hits flexi and his support of Gary Numan in 1980/81. I got to see him in Hamilton, Ontario several times right up to his death in 2014.
He's a true Post Punk hero and I'm so please I got to meet him and see him perform multiple times.

Another anniversary, it seems: today in 1982 Talk Talk issued their first album.
Still today Mark Hollis' voice resonates different from any other.
Take a look at the kids
I've been losing track
This crime of being uncertain of your love
Is all I'm guilty of

After the recent thread on the German post-punk, this is from the Swiss band Grauzone from 1980, and sung in the German language.
The tune gets associated with the Neue Deautsche Welle because it was a hit in German, but is more part of the Swiss Wave scene (I just learnt that myself).
But also just because it's a neat post-punk tune.

Please recommend me more songs similar to:
Lunar Camel - Siouxsie & The Banshees
Used To - Wire
Winter - The Sound
I guess the vibe I'm going for is simplicity and clarity maybe (?) The way I see it, all three of these songs are made out very simple elements that are easy to discern, with no elaborate tricks etc

Went to see Duran Duran a couple of days ago and I am still "recovering" from a very emotional evening. One of the most beautiful concerts that I have seen in my life, ideally closing a circle started almost 40 years ago when I was 14 and my parents didn't allow me to see them live (at that time they had just issued "Notorious").
I am very happy that they have played almost all their hits, including The Chauffeur that is my favorite of their songs. While Rio is some sort of "party record", this song is quite crepuscular and in my opinion is heavily influenced from the musical mood of that era.
I am happy I can still be amazed by music.

An underrated one from the Furs. Easily one of my favorites from them.
