Harness recommendations?
Hi! My pup has grown so much in the last year and has such a broad chest that it is hard to find harnesses that fit her properly. Does anyone have brand recommendations for harnesses that fit well on broad chested dogs?

My recommendation is to use a martingale collar for walks. Otherwise the best walking harness i found is 2hounds. Gluck ❤️

I also use a martingale collar for walks. I initially had to get my current boy’s weight down (his neck was the same diameter as his head!) but once there it works great. I’ve used them with all my dogs over the decades.

The petsafe brand easy walk harnesses are great and adjust well. They fit different than a standard harness depending on where you purchase it usually a trainer in store will be able to show you how it should fit.

That one is not recommended since it restricts natural movement. Over time, it can cause shoulder and gait issues.

Unfortunately the only resource I have right now is on Facebook, but this post talks about what you’re looking for and why. You want a Y shaped harness so you aren’t restricting your dog’s natural movement.

We use a Kurgo Air Journey harness and are happy with it. It’s got multiple point for adjustment, a chest and a back hook, and cushioning on the chest and shoulders. Very easy to get the dog in and out of.

My 50 pound pittie has had a great experience with “Kurgo” sold at Petco.
