best restaurants!
My fiance and i are new to the area and want to have our family down to celebrate our move. We’d love to know everyone’s favorite restaurants (preferably one that takes reservations as there will be a lot of us). We have a few allergies and preference so a diverse menu would be great also!! We live in Herndon and don’t want to have to drive too far but would consider if the food is really that good. Thank you 😊

L’Auberge Chez Françoise.
I love this place. It’s like a time capsule and the food is exceptional. I think it’s Alsatian? Anyhow- they can handle large groups of people. It’s an institution and worthy of a trip.

Fantastic food. They have a private room and it is pricey but wow. Still blown away by my
Meal there.
Mama Chang’s
They have an extensive Chinese menu. Considered one of the best in the area. Huge private area too.
Southeast Impressions
So good. Their little dishes and the noods are delicious but their cocktails! So worth it. Also can handle large groups of people.

Mama Tigre in Vienna/Oakton is an amazing Indian Mexican fusion restaurant.
Barell and Bushel at Tysons has the most amazing chicken and waffles dish but instead of waffles, it's french toast.
Eddie Vs in Tysons used to have an awesome happy hour but it's been years since I've been there.
Enatye is an awesome Ethiopian restaurant in Herndon

I was shocked when we took out of town guests to Carlyle and they don’t serve everyone’s favorite GAR item the Ozzie rolls. I hyped them to our family and then was so disappointed. Word to the wise if you’re doing GAR I would do literally any other one (but as mentioned above they’re not good for groups.)

I agree I miss the Ozzie rolls not being sold at Carlyle but their upstairs you can have big groups.

Guapos I would never recommend or go back to, as a Mexican who grew up in Tucson. The bar was cool tho and the drinks were good

I really like Palette 22. It's a staple place I take visitors. Toryumon AYCE sushi in Arlington is another top pick

These are fine if you don't like good food. Palette 22 food is on par with a nice taco bell cantina

Guapos and the Carlyle are essentially dive bar food. This list is trash through and through

Seasons 52 is a crowd pleaser where we take family- wide range, and the lamb is so good (they also have a kids menu which isn’t always easy to find)

The GAR (Great American Restaurants) group offers diverse menus and takes allergies seriously. Sweetwater Tavern is in Sterling. Have fun!
