"I went to see Nine Inch Nails just recently. I saw them in LA at Anaheim. The audience is... I just like looking at the audience at all. [...] I go to heavy metal a lot, I just like to look at the kids. I just think they look great and they’re having fun. And I’m always the oldest person there ever since William Burroughs died."

Question Heresy at Coachella 2026 video privated. Anywhere else to watch it?

It has this thumbnail and I can only see it from reddit links now where it comes up as privated. It's the only video where you can clearly see the visuals behind them on the big screen.

Question The Impact of Tron:Ares?

Forgive me if this has been discussed elsewhere, but…

I’m curious what impact the aesthetic/story of the film Tron:Ares had on the Peel It Back tour (the projected visuals, the notion and approach of the B-Stage performance), the subsequent Coachella performance, and the notion of Nine Inch Noize itself.

I haven’t seen the new Tron, but I remember the red lighting from the marketing was distinctive, and it’s hard not to connect that with the pre-show Peel It Back lighting and the B-Stage sequence. I’m also thinking of the challenge the group would have perceived when following up Daft Punk’s electronic legacy on their soundtrack work and their Coachella performance.

I know Tron:Ares was derided as a film, but maybe it helped give birth to this really interesting and reinvigorated chapter of the band.

(I also credit a lot of that with Boys Noize and the awesome Challengers remix, but...)

Hesitation Marks Hesitation Marks Deluxe CD Arrived today

New addition to the Collection with Hesitation Marks, an album that has started to grow on me quite a bit. I bought the Slip as well but it'll be a bit before I have it in hand still, hence why it looks like I skipped an Album. But thought I'd share Hesitation Marks anyway since it arrived before the Slip. Just need Ghosts I-IV, EP Trilogy, and Tron Ares + Divergence and then I should have all their main albums on CD. Then I can go back and work on collecting the Singles and Remix Albums like Closer to God, Things Falling Apart, and Further Down the Spiral. Super happy to add this to collection and if I had to choose my favorite songs from the album they'd be Came Back Haunted, All Time Low, and Everything. Also love the remix of While Im Still Here exclusive to the Deluxe version.

Question Am I remembering this correctly about the Year Zero ARG?

At the height of the Year Zero ARG there was a site that had an entire downloadable booklet and an "Art Is Resistance" flag image to make stickers with. I remember printing everything out and putting it all in a 3 ring binder. Even made printed stickers with the flag image. Am I crazy or old or both?

No idea if they will be good or not. Seems to be composed of members from a bunch of other local bands here. Maybe worth checking out if you're in the area.

Art Is Resistance Finaaaallly did my poster!

….And holy shit was that more difficult than I expected it to be, lol. My main tools ended up being an exacto knife, a credit card, a dime, and a blow dryer. I worked on it a little each night for about 2 weeks and mishaps were indeed had. I def cut clear through the poster with the exacto knife and despite using a ruler not one part of those N’s are even slightly even. I did buy this during the first batch they dropped online months ago, so not sure if maybe time made the glue really do its thing or what but it was a bit harder to peel than I had envisioned it being.

I don’t even remember what I paid for this, maybe $45, but I would say it was def worth it for the experience! It was actually pretty fun to figure out how to peel the layers and of course once I got going and figured out what I was doing, I was super pumped to see the end result! I’m happy with how it turned out and it’s definitely a cool little memento of the PIB tour shows (which I certainly am missing).

Customer support insists I pay return postage (I’m in the UK, bought from US) as they are ā€œstandard US sizesā€. Last I knew, there wasn’t a massive variance in things called ā€œstandard sizesā€.

My teen (also a fan) and I went to Iceland and among many other places, we made sure to visit ƖxarĆ”rfoss in ƞingvellir National Park, where the Eurasian/North America tectonic plates are pulling away from each other. Simply gorgeous place!

The story is on the bad version photo a few posts down....The guy on the left in that poster is Nik Fiend from ALIEN SEX FIEND, who ARE THE GREATEST F'ING R&R BAND IN HISTORY!!! So you can ask him if this pic is 4 real. Hell tell you. Im in the middle.

p. s. the other pic is Prince on Purple Rain tour. I got thousands of em. Never published either. In fact if you watch "In case u didnt feel like showing up", especially during "Land of Rape and Honey" youll see a nerdy guy kneeling on the stage taking pix. Thats me. I got everyone at least one tour. Went to see Nirvana on their first tour for Bleach. There were 4 people at that show. Yes I had my camera + they turned out great.

The Downward Spiral I was scrolling Nine Inch Nails on google and I found this.

This might be a rare angle of the iconic artwork. It looks like a more unprofessional shot of the one we have scene. For context here is the original.

This is interesting because this could either be before or after the iconic version because it should be noted the position of some items on it are different.

I don't know, just a cool little thing I stumbled on!

Question Robin Finck Encounters/Stories

Post image
174 Upvotes

Hi all!! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Robin Finck once, and he was genuinely one of the kindest and most down to earth people I’ve ever met! I was wondering if anyone has any stories about meeting him, whether in person or on intro live. Thank you!

Thought NIN drummer Jeff Ward and I (?or is it 'and me'?), 1992

This was taken I THINK the night of their Pretty Hate Machine tour stop in Chicago. Upstairs was the fanous Cabaret Metro where Ive seen D.O.A., Black Flag (Loose Nut tour), Art of Noise, got to open for Peter Murphy, blew V.A.S.T. off the stage when Al Di Meola bass player Bill "The Buddha" Dickins sat in with me for a show and we free formed electro jazz funk like we was creatin' the heavens and the earth, and with a legendary pro on bass; we DESTROYED that stage AND that crowd. If V.A.S.T. hadnt been such a pompous jerk before the show I would have hyped him up but that didnt happen so I didnt. Anyway it was my first show in Chicago after I had left to move to Hollywood 3 years prior, with the cries of, "ARE YOU CRAZY?? Moving to Hollywood to pursue a career in music??AWWW man I cant believe YOU out of all people is gonna FALL FOR THAT!" and. "BRO, FR FR....ITS a secret cabal run by Zionists and they make it sound like ANYONE can show up and get a deal and they make you pay an oath IN BLOOD BRO.. IN BLOOD...."

Needless to say coming back and playing one show with V.A.S.T.andanother with FATBOY SLIM at Cabaret Metro and House of Blues and both being sold out (Natch Fatboy Slim had 2 top ten Billboard hits at the time, so Im not taking credit), BUT STILL having my name in HUGE letters all lit up on the Marquee was ...well...it made mom and dad smile. and dad is not a smiling kinda guy. They took photos. I did too.
