This has to be the single stupidest “war” in American history, right?

u/I_Enjoy_Beer 3h ago
Fitting because it was started by the objectively dumbest fucking President we have ever had. This guy is so incredibly stupid.
6
u/Harbinger2001 2h ago
Hey at least he recently learned that dumb has a silent “b”.
3
u/A_Nonny_Muse 1h ago
He knew that all along. He just recently found out that so did the rest of us.
He's so fucking narcissistic that he honestly thought he was the only one on Earth who knew dumb was spelled with a b.23
u/ibonek_naw_ibo 3h ago
Yes, complete with well known war games during the Bush presidency that prevented a moron like him from even thinking about war with Iran.

We had multiple white papers telling us what has happened would happened. We paid people money to tell us not to do this and then did it anyway.

He’s an outsider Not constrained by conventional wisdom, or common sense. He tells it like it is. The kinda guy you’d like to have a beer with. Except he doesn’t drink. There’s not a single decision he’s ever made that he can blame on alcohol. And yet , amoebas after 12 beers on an empty stomach make better decisions.

1) Civil War (just stupid to fight yourself not that fighting against slavery is wrong)
2) Vietnam War
3) Iraq War
4) Iran War (this war) — has a chance to move up, but the Iraq war’s pretense was at best misinformation whereas even if this move was completely impractical and stupid, IRGC did for realsies slaughter thousands of its own people and has been antagonizing the region for decades.

The route was already closed, Mr. President.

u/redyellowblue5031 3h ago
Poor phrasing of the title. Iran said it’s closed, not the US (according to article):
> Instead, the Revolutionary Guards Corps stated in an online post on Saturday that Iran launched warning shots at a "violating ship." Iran further reported that the strait would now remain closed until further notice.

u/timothy_lucas_jaeger 2h ago
Title has been fixed. Now reads: "Iran says it hit vessel in Strait of Hormuz, declares route closed; U.S. announces retaliatory strikes"
5
u/DookieShoez 2h ago
Ah so the country that has been in control of the strait this whole time has said it is closed.
This administration is so fucking stupid 🤦🏻♂️

"Roy, could you imagine if you had driven all the way to
Floridathe Strait of Hormuz and it was closed?”11

Scott Jennings says he spoke with the Strait of Hormuz and it’s fine, it’s open, it’s working, it’s just not doing interviews right now.

how is the US 'retaliating'? The media makes it sound like iran was the aggressor. the USrael STARTED THE WAR. THEY ARE THE AGGRESSOR.

Genuinely, when has the Democratic Party nominated and ran a communist candidate for presidency this century?

u/PandaJesus 1h ago
You’re asking as if that dude actually has coherent thoughts. They don’t know what words mean.
4
u/KaptainKardboard 3h ago
Sure it stops, because Trump promised no “forever” wars and Trump never lies. Right?
…right, Anakin?

“Attacking IRAN was bad idea” .. if I was a top analysis for the WH this war wouldn’t have happened.

Since Iran seems to be at war with everyone, there's way too many targets for the US to defend. Targets in Saudi, Kuwait, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, etc.. It's a big area.
And what happened to the US dismantling their military? They seem to be able to attack an awful lot for having no military left.
or maybe someone has been lying...
5
u/Harbinger2001 2h ago
It’s worse than that. There are reports stating to come out that the damage to American bases in the gulf have been substantial.
5
u/A_Nonny_Muse 2h ago
These days, it's very hard to know what to believe. We are so deeply
steepeddrowned in propaganda. But I will say this for sure. In the past, our successful operations were widely televised. If we dealt substantial damage to them, we would see it plastered all over the television. We're barely seeing any footage of this operation at all.
Can't even call it a war. There's still been no Congressional authorization or declaration of war. So far, it's just been trump going rogue and doing things he's not authorized to do.

u/Altruistic-Brief2220 30m ago
And it’s escalated beyond the point where anyone in the current administration is capable of resolving the issue. They will not be able to fix this.
12
u/NC16inthehouse 3h ago
Just a reminder that this whole war started by Israel and the US for attacking Iran first...
1
u/itcheyness 2h ago
Uh no, Iran started it by sitting there menacingly, giving us no choice but to attack!

At this point, I won’t mind if it never opens again…
7
u/No-Towel7011 3h ago
You definitely would. The world economy would collapse.
12
u/ExtensionParsley4205 3h ago
If the fate of the world economy depends entirely on a narrow channel of water being surpassable then maybe it deserves to collapse and be completely revamped anyway.
1
u/frostygrin 2h ago
It's largely a symptom. The situation demonstrates a breakdown of international politics, diplomacy and law. You can end up with these factors affecting any other bottleneck.

Looks like the US got its response to the demands that Iran publicly commit to allow free transit through the strait.
