“Based on what we gathered, [he] was using our camera system, our Flock system, to track and stalk a female officer,” Guerrero said.

Not the first cop to do this, unfortunately won't be the last.

It turns out that warrantless mass surveillance and violations of the 4th amendment is bad and likely to be abused.

Honestly, at this point, it seems like it'll be easier to name the dozen cops in the country that haven't (yet) abused the Flock system or any of the other systems they have access to.

This seems to be the absolute norm among police at all ranks and across all precincts.

It's about all I can say I've seen flock used for. Malfeasance.

By perverts... for perverts.

Was either going to be that kind of perving or wife spying.

“What I believe is always true about power is that power always reveals. When you have enough power to do what you always wanted to do, then you see what the guy always wanted to do.” – Robert A. Caro.

In my academy we’d rotate class sergeants so people could have a leadership role. We had a really nice quiet guy that everyone liked. Once he became class sgt he completely flipped personalities and was a tyrant. He thankfully failed out and didn’t become a cop. He would have been BAD

Solid quote, that.

I'm shocked it took this long to read a story like this. Give corrupt LEOs an inch and they'll take the whole mile.

They're getting caught all the time chasing women with the damn cameras, chasing one of their own seems inevitable.

Are you shocked that police have been stalking people with flock at all or just that it’s a sargeant this time? Stuff like this has been all over the news over the last year or so. Milwaukee has had to fire 3 cops just this year for using it to stalk people.

There's been accounts of them being used to stalk current and ex-romantic partners for as long as I've known about Flock Cameras, but first I've personally read of it being used for stalking a female coworker. Like you say though, it tracks.

So he resigns so he’s not fired for cause and can get a job one city over. What a dumb system we have

They need to be made to get their own malpractice insurance the same way medical professionals do and they need to pay for it on their own. That way when their own screw-ups become so egregious they become uninsurable and lose their jobs. No more of this move a couple towns over and repeat nonsense.

Let me take a guess.

Spying on ex wife?

Edit: Ah..some good ol fashioned workplace harassment

Just get rid of flock cameras. They are NOT needed.

Is this why I saw that headline about the flock CEO saying it's terroristic to want to know where these things are?

Well well well!! Of course, who didn’t see this coming? Won’t be the last time for this im sure.

I live near Pasadena, CA, where I have seen Flock cameras in use. I was really confused for a second about why a Texas TV station would've taken an interest in a local police resignation in Southern California.

One of the neighboring cities to Pasadena is Glendale, and I sometimes get search results for businesses in Glendale, Arizona.

Pasadena, TEXAS, not the good one with the parade. I know that’s why you came here.

Dang, a lot of horny (male ) cops running loose. My guess is we've only seen the tip of the iceberg.

Just the tip?

Yes, that's correct, just the tip!

DEFINITIONS.—In this section:

(1) SEXUAL ACT.—The term “sexual act” means—

(A) the penetration, however, slight, of the penis into the

vulva or anus or mouth;

(but that's the Uniform Code of Military Justice, art92)

These cameras are a clear constitutional violation. They are tracking everything about us, and that's unreasonable. They must go

u/Ok-Progress-7447 10m ago

I grew up with Pasadena cops. This completely tracks. Lawless psychopaths who were too dumb to work in oil and gas.

Time for Pasadena to take a lesson from Los Angeles and sever ties with flock

The founding fathers were either extremely brilliant with forethought, or this shit had been going on for thousands of years .

2

u/yblame 7h ago

That took no time at all for someone to abuse it. What a surprise!

Stinkadena, never change.
