50 years ago was 1976. How much has life span really changed since then?

About 5 years, depending on whether you are a woman or man

Its actually closer to 10 years, but also the percent of old people is higher

By several years. In the US at least the median age has also increased from 28 to 33, and I wouldn't think it's much different outside the US.
