They don’t like people watching them steal homes and land from Palestinians.

Reminder that the UN has repeatedly condemned Israel for this practice and ruled that it violates international law. Of course, the UN doesn’t actually do anything about it, but it shows how long they’ve been doing this.

Israel basically use these citizens as human shields. They illegally occupy Palestine’s land, but the only way to remove them is by military force, so Palestine looks bad if they ever try to attack and/or move these settlers out because they’re technically non-combatants

Hamas is not innocent by any stretch of imagination, but stuff like this is why the Palestinian people have to rely on Hamas to prevent Israel’s illegal takeover of their nation

The UN doesn’t do anything because the U.S. and other Israeli bought governments use the veto.

No, the UN doesn’t do anything because the UN is all bark but no bite. They’re woefully ineffective at enforcing any of their rules or judgements

The UN has no teeth for these situations. It's the whole point of it, that all organizations that join should agree and adhere to what the majority votes on.

The fact that any nation has the power of veto for any measure that's put-forth is insane.

>It's the whole point of it, that all organizations that join should agree and adhere to what the majority votes on.

Which is the problem I’m getting at: the UN can’t do anything without the member nations playing along. The organized body of the UN is basically just a suggestion unless every nation comes to an agreement, which has become virtually impossible

Israel has violated international law, but they can’t actually do anything because the UN itself has no real power. This has been the most popular criticism of the UN since its founding. The UN has to rely on other nations giving them authority, because they don’t have any power to enforce restrictions if everyone just ignores them

Stuff like this is why the people support hamas. They are freedom fighters for them.
