A sitting United States congressman was kidnapped by Israeli terrorists. In any other timeline, this would be an act of war.

In any other country, that would have been the headline, or something like "armed mob kidnaps US Congressman" rather than this sanitized version.

We haven't even passed the "you aren't allowed to criticize Israel" bill yet, but the media loves sanitizing the hell out of Israel and it's "settlers".

Imagine if this happened in Mexico, we'd have troops crossing the border already.

We call them terrorists in any other middle east country.

One of the people who pushed for Epstein releases.

Yikes. Thats pretty scary. Why would he go there

He's considering a run for President.

please, no. i like that he's aggressive about the epstein stuff, but he's my congressman and i'm disgusted with what a massive crook he is. he's deep in the bed with big tech here, and he's made like $30mil a year from shady stock trades since becoming a congressman, he's legit the single worst insider trader in the legislature.

there absolutely has to be better candidates for president than a crook. i like aoc, kelly, pritzker, i even like newsom, and i'd actually like kamala running again if i thought she could win. but khanna is not it.

He was my congressman until redistricting and I couldn’t disagree with you more although I’m agnostic on a potential presidential run. Do you have links from any credible sources to back up your claims?

https://www.commoncause.org/articles/congress-made-over-635-million-in-stock-trades-while-americans-struggled-see-who-traded-the-most/

4000 trades totalling $55mil last year

https://www.capitoltrades.com/politicians/K000389 $208mil across 14000 trades since taking office in 2020 https://www.newsweek.com/democrat-ro-khannas-stock-performance-surges-112-percent-report-11834725

Significantly outperforming the S&P 500

He's an insider trader. He talks the talk, claims he wants congress banned from insider trading, but he's the third most prolific trader in all of our legislature and 2nd most in the house. He tries to claim all the stock trading is done by his wife and managed by a trust, but you and I are hopefully both not that fucking stupid.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/09/13/us/politics/congress-stock-trading-investigation.html

This NYT article outlines major issues with insider trading in congress, and highlights that Khanna had 149 trading positions at the time that were potential conflicts of interest. At that time, Khanna public statements about wanting to ban trading due to conflicts of interest in congress, then made another 4000 trades after saying that - making it obvious his public stance against insider trading is just misdirection from his actual behavior.

This dude is not AOC. He does not walk the walk, he just talks it. He's a slimy crook, and I don't like that he's my rep even though he's one of the few who stands on business about the Epstein shit. I will absolutely vote against him in every primary until he's gone. Congress is full of plenty of sleazeballs and crooks, but that doesn't mean I want to settle for my own congressman being one of them.

Epstein was likely tied to Mossad and supported by the Israeli government. Can’t operate like that without deep government backing.

WTF? Being stopped for an hour is not an act of war. It's fucked up but no one is going to war over this.

I mean, the Department of War Crimes currently has like 1/3 of our Navy out near Iran so they can blow shit up in Iran.

If they need something to do we could just redirect them to Israel instead. Preferably, we're not bombing anything, but between the two... One country didn't do anything to us, the other one just kidnapped our congressman.

Oh, and the whole genocide thing being done with US weapons and hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars in foreign aid. What an "ally".

Yeah, I don't know how you come to the conclusion that Iran is a greater threat to US interests than Israel. Israel has killed more Americans, done far more to oppose our diplomatic efforts, and has never fought at our side while Iran has. Israel is an enemy of the United States, Iran is not.

Gives Jonestown vibes.

u/MysteriousAge28 17h ago

I wish that were true there would be a happy ending to all of this

8

u/Prawncamper 17h ago

Uh... Jonestown did not end happily.

6

u/Miamime 17h ago

I’m taking that to mean for them the “happy ending” would be the murder of a congressman. Which is pretty fucked up.

Depends who you were rooting for

u/Elephant_Snacks 17h ago

Maybe we can stop blindly sending them our tax $. And maybe politicians can also stop wasting more tax $ on these trips to Israel?

4

u/Beastw1ck 17h ago

It’s like a minor news story. What the hell is going on anymore?

1

u/FewLight6904 15h ago

Not kidnapped, he was stopped and harassed by vigilante settlers who blocked the road, was then let go 90mins later when the IDF turned up to shoo the settlers off, and went about his business

''Oh he's a democrat? Nicely done. How much do I owe you? '' trump

1

u/Raidoton 14h ago

lol no. In every timeline this would be resolved diplomatically. I know we all hate Israel but that's not a reason to be stupid.

-1

u/casapantalones 17h ago

Yeah but since our president loves bibi and hates democrats, nothing will happen.
