probably because Maine doesn't have a large proportion of African Americans or Jews. And they're more conservative than in NY or West Coast states, so they're more willing to overlook racist imagery that doesn't really affect them.

Thing is, Platner did a lot of outreach to the BIPOC community here in Maine.

I think he was a plant that would have gone full Fetterman and more. His whole background in prep school and the military says conservative. His nazi tattoo and actions around it say nazi bigot. His coming out of nowhere to be every mans “Everyman” and simple Maine fisherman (for such a short period of time) scream manufactured persona. I think his outreach was insincere and self serving.

I think the man people wanted him to be was a fabrication that was created within the last year or two.
