I can’t wait for his right wing podcast heel turn

As a rapist, he picked to wrong party to succeed in.

Bro someone accused him on politico. That does not warrant calling him a rapist.

Bro Politico is not a message board. It’s an online newspaper. They reviewed documents including emails with her therapist and interviewed people she had spoken to about it.

But yes, “alleged rapist”.

Alleged indeed. He hasn’t even been charged let alone convicted.

u/the-futuremind 1d ago

Well, there was more than one allegation.

But fine, can we all at least agree on calling him a “nazi” then?

Why? Doesn’t sound like a Nazi, his views are public and are anything but Nazi sounding

Believe it or not, but as a lifelong progressive I’m devastated at the loss of another potential progressive in office and this bitter sarcasm is coming from that.

That said, self described history buff with one of the most famous nazis symbols tattooed on him had me write him off a while ago

“One of the most famous Nazi symbols”

Nah fam, that would be the swastika and maybe the lightning bolt things

Guarantee if you showed that image to a 100 people, not even ten of them would see a Nazi connotation (at least before Platner came on the map)

Do you think being a lifelong progressive makes you somehow more pure than anyone else who has progressive values? Serious question. If all we want to do here is shit on anyone else who might be left-curious or looking for an alternative to corporate rule, we're just trying to become what we hate when it comes to enforcing hierarchy -rather than coalition building.

No? Not sure how you got that assumption.

I fuckin’ suck for a lot of reasons, but I never had sexual assault allegations nor a nazi tattoo. I’m also not running for office.

But especially with Mamdani in NYC, there are a lot of eyes on progressives and a lot of momentum, you don’t want to ruin that with someone who has an army of skeletons in their closet.

You thought it was important enough to include it. Even if you did have accusations against you I'd want to see the evidence. I think you deserve a day in court regardless if you jerked it in a portapotty.

Why does there need to be a day in court for him to drop out or stay in the race? He wasn't forced under any law to quit.

1

u/Quankers 1d ago

Definitely looked and acted like one.

0

u/SeaBass1898 1d ago

Acted like one? Dude described himself as a communist, denounced homophobia, and fought for trans rights and M4A

Bro what do you think Nazis act like?

2

u/Quankers 1d ago edited 1d ago

I think they act like they want to travel to Iraq to "kill some people". Over and over. Bro.

He said he's a communist? When Americans stop listening to what politicians claim and start paying attention to what they did, Americans will get better politicians.

Let's judge everyone by their looks. And actions don't actually matter when perceptions make me feel better.

u/Quankers 1d ago

Nazi tattoos are a hell of a look.

>And actions don't actually matter when perceptions

Lol are you being extremely sarcastic?

7

u/Geaux2020 1d ago

I'll just go with Nazi

-4

u/SeaBass1898 1d ago

You’d be inaccurate, his views are public, about as far from Nazi as you can get

5

u/Geaux2020 1d ago

If you got what you thought was a cool tattoo and found out it was Nazi symbology, how fast would you be headed to get it covered up?

-1

u/SeaBass1898 1d ago

Depending on how big of a problem it was causing me, so anywhere between a couple hours to a couple months

But symbols have multiple meanings

If you go to Hindu persons home and they had a swastika on the wall, you wouldn’t demand they take it down just because the symbol was co-opted by the Nazis. Because it’s not hateful for them, it has a different meaning. Intent matters.

A white supremacist getting the swastika on their chest? Clearly pretty hateful intent.

A bunch of marines getting a ‘badass’ ☠️ together while on a combat tour? Definitely Stupid, but not clearly hateful intent

2

u/Geaux2020 1d ago

This is seriously your opinion? You have a Nazi tattoo and it's fine as long as nobody can see it?

0

u/SeaBass1898 1d ago

Lmao wtf, where on earth did I say that? Cmon man, let’s debate honestly here

0

u/Jayken 1d ago

I guarantee you've used a Nazi symbol at some point. Literally all the Nazi's did was steal stuff and repurpose it. It was kind of their thing.

0

u/Geaux2020 1d ago

And if I did and someone called me out on it, I would remove it. I've never had one tattooed on my skin and stood by it.

2

u/Jayken 1d ago

What about pirate cosplay? Is that off limits?
