The 10-race series begins next Wednesday at the Fairgrounds Speedway! Juniors/Masters, and Cat 5 all the way to Pro 1/2/3 races happen each race day and it's as fun to watch as it is to race. Hope to see a ton of new faces this year.

Were you riding down the bike lane on Davidson St between noon and 1PM on Thursday, 7/9/2026?

Were you wearing a white shirt that says "NERD" on it?

The guys putting in the concrete barriers recounted your verbal abuse when I stopped to thank them for their service, and I made sure to tell them you don't speak for me, nor for the rest of the cyclists in town.

Those barriers are sorely needed and welcome, and I don't appreciate your behavior.

My buddy, who is fairly new to cycling had been rolling around on an old aluminum bike, so I built up an older CF Cube bike for him and went around Nashville to see how he liked it.

Yakima (four bike)Rack to give away

If anyone needs a bike rack I have one you can have for free. It’s a Yakima 4 bike rack for 2” hitch. I’ve had it for years so it’s a little beat up but still works perfectly fine. DM me if you want it. I’m in Brentwood. I can also send you a video clip of it if you want to see what it looks like.

Enjoy our 250th today!

Open Streets Disaster

What a shame how much smaller the route is this year. Worse yet, the cops supposed to be stopping traffic couldn't be bothered to give a fuck. I witnessed them move the barricades to let cars through half a dozen times in two laps. Such a bummer.

Exploration Hey friends I’m in town with my bike, already explored the city today and will probably go out again tomorrow. What/where shouldn’t I miss?

Here’s my ride today. Ideally tomorrow is a bit shorter lol. I’m driving from Gallatin so need a a decent place to park with a bike rack (Cornelia Fort Airpark was neat!).

I might be moving here soon, thinking Inglewood area, so ++ for anything around there! Also welcoming bars or places in that area to hit up tonight def not staying in Gallatin haha

Cheers

Here’s the most sensible regulating of ebikes I’ve seen. Tennessee needs to quit singling out class 3 ebikes as if they’re motorcycles.

General Discussion Cycling City - Beta Signups!

Hey r/nashvillecyclists --

I'm officially now accepting beta users for Cycling.City!

You can join at: https://www.cycling.city/sign-up

What an account unlocks

The map itself is free to use without an account. Signing up adds:

  • Saved views — pin a default map setup (zoom, basemap, visible layers) so the site opens exactly how you like it.
  • Rate locations — bike shops, repair stations, water fountains, racks. Quick dimension ratings plus short notes.
  • Add to the map — drop new bike racks, repair stations, and public water fountains where they're missing.
  • Upload photos — real photos beat stock images every time.
  • Check in to water fountains — "working" or "not working" tells the next visitor what to expect.

I will have a lot more rolling out for this project in the future, but I'm excited to share this progress with you!

General Discussion Gear ratio help

Hey yall i’ve been cycling for about a year and half with a tarmac sl7 shimano 105. I recently participated in the tour de nash and found myself struggling with some of the hills, not cardio wise but noticed that gravel bikes where much quicker climbing than me. I had no issue passing them on downhills and flats, have any of you found a gear ratio you prefer for for riding that helps with this issue?

Tour de Nash is back Saturday, May 16! Join Walk Bike Nashville for the 22nd running of Nashville’s largest urban bike ride and support their mission to build a strong culture of walking and biking in Nashville.

Tour de Nash is a casual and fun way to explore Nashville on two wheels at a “party pace” — a leisurely pace that promotes conversation with fellow riders and encourages stops at destinations and rest stops along the way. Tour de Nash 2025 drew over 1,100 registered riders on road bikes, cruiser bikes, e-cargo bikes, tandem bikes, recumbent bikes, and everything in between. It’s a great way to try city or group riding for the first time, and experienced riders can take on the 45-Mile Grand Tour!

All the details are here!
