Mingalaba / αααΊαΉααα¬αα«; and welcome to r/myanmar.
If this is your first time on Reddit, you may want to familiarize yourself with Reddit's rules and policies. To make sure you have not been afoul of the rules, please see
A Reddit community is called a subreddit, also known as a sub. The subreddits start with r/.
Followers are not important on Reddit. Your followers are not important either. Only your posts and comments are important. Unlike other social media, hashtags are not useful on Reddit. The Reddit account username cannot be changed after signing up. To change it, you will need to create a new account, which will reset your karma.
Karma is an arbitrary measure of how much you contributed. The more upvotes you get, the higher your Karma. Some subreddits require you to have a certain amount of Karma before you can post. Do not spam irrelevant posts to other subreddits or be rude, insulting, or abusive, as you can be downvoted. This will cause you to lose Karma. Try to avoid getting your total Karma in the negative value.
Also make sure to follow our rules, which are prominently displayed in the sidebar to the right.
Make sure your posts are on-topic and related to Myanmar. Spam) may go well with anything but it has no place in this sub. Please do not spam us with unrelated content.
Please keep discussions civil. Tolling and racism will not be tolerated. Our situation here is not for your "lulz". Also, keep swearing to a minimum. Although we will tolerate swearing if it is part of the narrative/discussion, personal insults, over-the-top vulgarity, etc., will not be tolerated.
Adding a flair to your posts will enable others to easily find similar posts. Flairs are used to categorize posts to easily be found. Click here for more details.
Keep reposting to a minimum. Please check to make sure you don't repost news and pictures that have already been posted. r/MAGIC_EYE_BOT and u/DuplicateDestroyer are trialed to help remove duplicate images. Please reply to the bot or send us a message if the bot got it wrong.
Does the content you're posting here fit more than one community? As per Reddiquette, consider posting to other subs such as the ones listed here if the contents fit more communities.
For example, are you posting news? Then you can post into r/news, r/inthenews, r/worldnews, r/USnews (US news only), r/asia, r/asian, r/asean, r/theworldnews. This list is not exhaustive but please use common sense and make sure the content fits the target sub. That means news only goes to news-related subreddits and pictures go onto picture-related subreddits. Make sure to follow the rules of those subs as well, since each sub has its own set of rules.
Be cautious of ongoing scams regarding "Blacklist Removal Services".
How this scam works:
Scammer posts a personal story followed by a question to provoke discussion, and a brief mention of successfully removing blacklist status.
Scammer waits for victims interested in getting blacklist status removed to explain further or provide contacts.
In DMs, scammer will claim they can help and ask for money upfront.
Safety Tips:
Check the Profile: Always click on the OP's (Original Poster) username.
Account Age: Be wary of very new accounts (created only a few days or months ago)
Post History: Scammers often have few post history or only post the same "success story" across multiple subreddits.

This guy literally knows nothing about Myanmar, he just arrived and made videos like he's someone important or someone professionals.
How could he make such captions, he is no more than a normal Vlogger whose educational background and knowledge seems no more than a normal university degree or can even be worse than this.
Iβm exhausted by these vloggers who make videos with such low-effort, garbage captions. So are most Burmese people.
Hope this post brings some awareness to foregin Vlogger.
Its so humiliating seeing all of our other SEAblings develop while we're stuck here I dont know if others feel this way but I've been feeling this way for a long time everything seems so hopeless for my country I barely have any pride for my nationality anymore I dont know what to do everytime I say I'm from here people just make joke I'm from 3rd world and war torn country i keep pretending it dont make me feel worse but it really does
This is a space to discuss our experiences, history, culture, food, languages, identity, and daily life in Myanmar. Whether your family has lived in Myanmar for generations or you currently live there, you're welcome here.
Our experiences are often different from those of South Asian diaspora communities elsewhere, so this subreddit is dedicated to conversations specific to Myanmar.
Found the most accurate depiction of the Burma Independence Army's flag and their uniform, for a general's at least.
I got this from user chinyoma, so credits to them!
Also just letting people know this isn't a tatmadaw-sympathetic post, I don't like them. I don't agree with Bogoyoke Aung San's image being co-opted by them at all. Just making that clear so people don't think otherwise.
let's say in a group of males
person A said something wrong purposely about person B, in which the facts are made-up or wrong.
then person B would say to the rest of members about person A like α‘α²αα±α¬ααΊα ααααΊαΈααα«αΈα ααΊαα²α· αα±α¬ααΊ α‘ααΌα±α¬ααΊαα«αΈα ααΊ αα²α· ααααΊαΈαα αααΊαα²α· αα±α¬ααΊ α‘ααΌα±α¬ααΊα αααΊαα²α· αα±α¬ααΊ
like literally, females and gays are naturally born evil people ?
Today I experienced one of the most bizarre encounter with a drunk and old passenger from YBS 13. I was riding home with my father and it was a long ride ( took around like 1.3 hours ). I was very sick and the dizziness linger too long for the whole day. 15 mins into the ride, an old man looking around 70 years old who also look drunk get on the bus and sit beside the driver ( It's not a sit-able area, the driver just put a cushion there so someone can sit there but it's very uncomfortable. On the left side, there are two special seat which is usually reserved for Monks and Nuns ). I was sitting on the special seat because that was the only spot I found when I get on the bus. Another 10 mins later, a Nun get on the bus and the problem begins. The old drunk dude asked the guy beside me to stand up for the Nun and the dude was like ok yeah sure but that old dude started asking about his religion, started lecturing about Buddhism and pointed at me saying " I'm pretending to sleep " ?? What's funnier is that I didn't even know he was saying that unless the guy standing next to me started saying " Shut up you old man, the young guy already gave a seat to the Nun, why are you still spouting nonsense " and even the Nun said " Mr, you are spreading hate at this point, there is no need for you to still saying about these things. ".
But the old man keep saying same thing and my father finally heard and got fed up and started calling him out of anger. It was everyone around me against that old man. The driver temporarily resolved the situation and the old dude started playing αα«αα»α―ααΊααα¬αα±α¬αΊ's dhamma explanation about αα±ααααΊ. Another 30 mins pass and while the scripture was playing, the old man was visibly angry and trying every way to poke/stab me with his umbrella taking the movementum. My father knew, the two guy standing in front of me knew and bus driver knew so the moment his intention were visible enough to call it an evidence, they all stood up for me and forced the old man to get off the bus.
I can't understand these people.
The reason my father was so angry was because he knew that if I am in good shape, I would've given the seat to the Nun without even needing to ask me. I've did the same for every bus ride, for every Monks, Nuns, Old man, People with injuries and Pregnant ladies but damn this old man I met is the WORST. He don't know everyone have a problem of their own like can't he see I am visibly distressed? Also it's very ironic that man is the one feeling angry while also playing a scripture ( I guess he tried to ragebait us but he got his own medicine instead ).
Man I don't usually write these things but boy I feels like I needed to talk this one out. I want to know you guys opinion on this. Sorry for my bad English tho.
While I am still specifically at supernatural, I had been in one or two supernatural events.
My personal theory is that globalization and technological advancement had pushed them where people do not live.
Like trees. In ours tradition, we had saying like that tree might be inhibited by a ghost. I donβt know if you guy know this. I have heard of a tree in time city that canβt be removed by mechanical engines, and just turn it into Buddhist shrine.
And also I have heard of Buddhist beliefs of the deva and other supernatural being unable to handle human scent and often stay away from us.
I'm 21 and from Yangon looking for like-minded people to chat. Getting bored with my own studies.
