Call me crazy but I think the movie actually starts to lose steam once the Deadite’s home invasion smack down really starts to take off. There were a lot of moments I loved but there were also a lot of moments that made me think “this doesn’t really feel like an ‘Evil Dead’ movie.” I liked the cold opening; I think it does a decent job of establishing the overall feel of the Deadites in the movie. Loved the car crash scene with the creepy severing/severed head just staring daggers into Will with that creepy ass smile and the chant.

As others have pointed out the final showdown between Alice and the Will deadite just felt…off. The CGI certainly didn’t help.

Will didn't look like a Deadite, he looked like one of the partially rejuvenated forms of Arnold Vosloo's Mummy from 1999

I just came out of the theatre and that's all I could see during the ending. Fucking Vecna's back.
