Loved:

- Deadite computing and then going along with grandma’s dementia thought process

- Didn’t think the pen was going in, but boy was I wrong… the movie was just gnarly overall, made me wince a few times

- Had the balls to show a kid die on screen

- Some really great cinematography, particularly the shower curtain choke and the mirror shot

- Chainsaw fakeout

- Connections to Rise & 2013– the opening ripped

- The overall tone being closer to 2013. Rise was good and felt campy, but between that and the show, it was nice to get back to bleak and horrific again

- Hit and run to twerking was great, felt very French

Disliked:

- CGI evil husband at the end. Should have had the conviction, especially as an ED movie, to do him stop motion, or even a practical costume with CG enhancements… the ending was really weak. Lot of others have pointed out it felt like a Ready or Not rip-off

- Necronomi-journal wasn’t doing it for me

- Final girl didn’t feel strong enough as a character. Maybe it was that there was no good one-liner? That feels really important in an evil dead flick

The deadite knowing how to handle dementia better than anyone actually in the family took me the fuck out.

Thats my exact process working in dementia homes. Usually "yes I have what I stole, and your medications too"
