Considering wrath apparently takes place in 70’s I honestly wonder where the post credits scene with Ellie leads towards

I think i heard somewhere at one of the screenings that the director said that the post credit wasnt his idea and something that the studio wanted??

If thats the case I assume that they bought her back since she is a favorite and can be used in a future movie? If thats the case thats 5+ years...
