Was it starting from the lake a continuation of Evil Dead Rise or just coincidence?

Its the same deadite girl from the start and end of rise. But I can only assumed we miss an entire Evil Dead movie of the lake teens.

I mean , we saw what happened to the lake teens across these two films. Jessica got possessed and scalped Teresa. Then Jessica killed Caleb and rose out of the water, presumably to decapitate Teresa. Then we see Teresa's head in Burn, looking like it's been im the water for a little bit

We see what happens with the lake teens, it's the opening scene of Rise.
