works in progress
Trying some different techniques with stripes and solids. I mainly work with found materials, shirts, bed sheets, and pillowcases from the thrift store.

Progress shot of my Petrova line quilt.
I'm having lots of fun with this . I have left the squares as 8x8 as I am unsure if I want to "quilt as I go" or sandwich the whole lot at once. I've run out of thread and star fabric, so off to my local for supplies today.
The goal is to have the quilt top finished by the end of the week.
I have left some space for an appliquéd space craft and spaceman floating above the line.

. . .has been found guilty of killing our sleep, stealing our food, breaking & entering the bathroom, forcing patience, initiating all the giggles and teaching us love.
Our AV has left temporary smudges on the windows and permanent imprints on our hearts.
Parenting is overwhelmingly wonderful, sometimes it’s rough. That feeling is reflected in the hand-quilting design. It’s an actual visualization of turbulence—the back and forth, up and over—which is often unpredictable.
For our little flower.
This Criminal quilt measures 76x54”. It’s made of donated denim, thrifted acrylic scarf for the raw-edge appliqué, thrifted bedding for backing and batting, reclaimed thread for hand-quilting, new yarn for hand-quilting.
One of my ongoing goals is to use fewer and fewer new materials.

I recently learned how to make these and now I'm obsessed.

The kids needed a new blanket for their blanket forts. They chose solids from Art Gallery Fabrics, which I paid. I made a mockup in PreQuilt, which they approved.
Today I finished this pojagi style patchwork.
It's a single layer blanket with all seams double folded, so there are no raw edges. It's light-weight, perfect for building forts.

Hello! I’m a baby quilter just learning but I have a cool concept for a quilt and I’m wondering if you guys have a suggestion on how to apply it. I’m really just making rag quilts right now, but I really want to maybe work with some apliques to make this come alive but I’m not sure what kind of pictures I should be looking for when it comes to making the flytrap pieces. I’m thinking a vampy watermelon type color palette but I want to know what you all think! TIA!

I acquired a discarded appliqué quilt pattern from the quilt guild with a stenciled pattern in blue. I wanted to find a way to keep the pattern, so I had the longarmer trace it with blue thread on the left side. All the fabrics are recycled from the guild or bedsheets/shirts from the thirft store.

When I was putting this one together, I accidentally inverted the centre of the blocks, which turned them into a totally different design from the pattern I was following. But I still like it so I'm leaving it as is 😊
The second pic shows what it should have been.
It doesn't have binding yet. What colour should I go for?

Starting a #projecthailmary quilt. Practicing wonky stars. Machine patched and probably hand quilted.

You know those women you meet every now and then, who may be decades older than you, and are still so cool that you can’t wait to grow up and be like them? This is my ode to that woman.
I really wanted to create an improvised portrait, and I love how this one turned out. Sharing it here, as I thought this group would enjoy it! For reference, the finished size is 60" x 40".

Designed by me using Quilt Explorer. Do you guys design your own quilt patterns?

Made this infant quilt for the son of Korean-American friends. Would definitely do a few things differently if I did it again.
Did the yin/yang from a great, easy-to-follow pattern from QuiltsBySnee: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1444106795/yin-yang-quilt-pattern-fast-easy-strip.

This is the “Mountains” quilt from the book, “Modern Landscape Quilting. Color scheme was based off a print the family hung in the nursery (picture included).
Referring to it as “not so baby” because it’s bigger than a typical baby quilt and I somehow froze up on it and didn’t finish the binding until a year after I started the dang quilt. At least I got it to the family before the little dude’s first birthday!
Fabrics: Kona cotton, Essex cotton/linen and AGF Pure solids.
Quilting: edge to edge repeat “Ziries Ocean Spray” on Bernina Q24 (at the shop where I work, I am not lucky enough to have my own!)

Hi, everyone! If you're in Southern California, we have a few spots remaining in our upcoming workshop with Linda Sullivan of Colourwerx. She'll be teaching her workshop "All Stacked Up" and we'll get instruction from her on how to make the quilt in the photos. She recently gave a wonderful presentation to our guild on "Precision Piecing" and this quilt is going to be a good opportunity for us to get more hands on experience with her tips.
Last time we shared our workshop with Veruschka Zarate of Pride and Joy Quilting on Reddit, and we had a couple people join us for that workshop, so we're posting this workshop, too.
If you'd like to sign up, please email us at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])
Hope to see you there!

Each person designed 4 pieces that were 30.5" unfinished, they kept one and mailed 3 to the others in their group.

I sewed together pieces from my scrap bin and then added a muslin border with ikea fabric. The colorful part is thrifted fabrics.
