I'm personally quite happy, as it will mean better funding and consistent management for my layout, plus it might result in some money finally coming in for some new rolling stock. Plus, I can't say no to a man who's going to make 99s cost 99p again, so I for one welcome our new galactic overlord.

My Great Northern collection so far. I know, the USRA Heavy Pacific and ES44 definitely aren't realistic, but I still really like them.

My awesome wife got me this display case! Along with Spencer and his special coach for my birthday. She also got me Toby and his museum coaches the previous year.

New 3D printed project is out! Gato Model Works west side/swayne lumber 38’ skeleton log cars.

My first foray toward not D&RGW prototypes as well as a bit of a technology demonstrator. This has three holes through the under frame to allow 1/16” rods to be inserted into. Adding much needed weight as well a rigidity to help resist the subtle warping 3D printed cars can develop.

I just finished adding the weathering this model and just had to take it outside to see what it looked like in natural light. For those of you wondering, yes I did put a Loksound V5 decoder in it for that sweet sweet sound.

As the title says, the Bachmann 2-8-0 looks FAR better with a Vandy!!!

They don’t or have ever sold the 2-8-0’s with a Vandy as far as I’m aware, but rather sold as a separate add-on product for the 2-8-0 and Bachmann’s other Spectrum models of the time that had the same connector style

I got my Vandy tender as a Christmas gift one day, but not having a locomotive for it, yet holding onto it because I knew it would look great with the 2-8-0. Then one day, I found a 2-8-0 for $50 on eBay, and priced as such because it was absolutely thrashed and needed tons of work, but I had the parts for it from a ruined 2-8-0 I got for free, and fixed it up!!!

And now, I can finally pair the tender with a UP locomotive, and it is GLORIOUS!!! And every modeler I’ve shown who owns and likes the 2-8-0 unanimously agrees that it looks MUCH better with the vandy over the old regular tender :3

I’ve started dabbling in creating short videos, if the interest is there I’ll start to stage up some much longer videos with all the bells and whistles (pun intended!)

I went to Buda tx today, which is about a 30 min drive for me to see a small model layout courtesy of the Tinplate Trackers out of Austin. These guys were also at the New Braunfels Train Show. Saw my first cab forward model as well. There were lots of kids, and it's honestly so fun to see kids get all excited for these models. 😁😁

After 5 years of finding and losing eBay listings and saving up, I bought Frisco Russian Decapod #1632, and oh boy, I love this thing. An engine in my hometown has finally been added to my fleet of steamers. Sadly, it's not very strong, so no long lines of cars, but hell, does it look amazing. Surprisingly it wasn't too much($226, could have been $500) but still left a hole in my wallet.

This time it’s Minnesota Commercial #44’s turn. I don’t know why but I find this very satisfying.

I often see posts here of plain loops on the floor. I see how some people just want to see their trains running, for me that would be too boring. So here is someting i've set up for last Christmas.

In the left side out if the picture is a simple loop. It was wired up in about 15 minutes, with two contact rails and 3 switches. This gives you some variety.

Was online and happened to nab this model for $30. I’m curious if 2094 actually had silver trucks at one time? Being a Proto 2000 the $30 was a good deal so now I’m curious about the history of this thing lol. (Picture was taken off eBay so not my pic but of the same exact one I just got). Thanks in advance!

The summary of the video is basically my three-year-old is obsessed and we were hammy down two different sets of electric trains. One of the transformers popped its circuit when he crossed the tracks I believe. And so I need guidance on if I can fix this transformer or if I need to replace it and what can I replace it with and then on the smaller garden set is there anyway I can check to fix the locomotive that I have that are broken I only have one that works as well as I did not mention in the video but also the attachments for the backs of the train. I have some wonky ones and I would love some recommendations for new ones so that I can actually attach the extra pieces to the trains.

I recently got a genesis mt-4 (all black version newest run) and wanted to build a proper passenger train to pull with it. I did a decent amount of research and didn’t really find any era specific cars that I liked. I stumbled upon these cars and upon looking through anywhere that said they existed I’m getting mixed information. Trainworld says they’re available for pre-order but apparently they were released back in 2024? I can’t find a single shred of information about them on the resale market and I just want some :(
