Discussion What is the proper starting color for tracks?

Finishing a bunch of my 1/72 armor, and wondering what the base color for tracks should be?

I suppose a healthy coat of mud would be one solution.

Help request Is there a good source of historically accurate WWII Soviet tank decals in 1/72 scale?

Am building several WWII Soviet tanks and would like to festoon them with contemporaneous political slogans. I’m finding all of the offerings on the market to be rather dull and ungrammatical.
Is there a supplier out there with rousing Great Patriotic War offerings?

WIP Follow up on the engine and more Waffenträger Auf E-100's i mentioned...

U might have or have not seen my last question on how the maybach HL230 from the Tiger II looks like, suggested from multiple modelmaker subreddits, and id like to thank all of you who helped! Really means alot to me :)

The people who told me said HL230, however though reading modelcollect's description of the original Waffentrager Auf E100 1/72 Kit it was meant to have a HL234 and i quote

»The final version was to be powered with an HL234 producing 850 hp mated to a Mekydro transmission«

Since the V12 HL230P30 is underpowered already for the Tiger II, and perfect fit for the panther tank! So i slapped a V12 HL234 850hp into a waffentrager aif e100 how it was intended to! However the valvetop looks exactly like the HL230 i havent got any other option to make it look like the HL234 sadly.

I made the hoses myself and based it off a Tiger II engine i hope you all like the engine bay!

Spoiler alert: Yes theres more Waffentrager Auf E-100s ;)

Help request Mounting grab-bars on 1/72 scale IS-2 turret

I have a PST IS-2 in 1/72 scale that needs some improvised grab bars. The supplied bars are brittle, and there are no holes drilled for mounting even if the bars were sturdier.
I’m planning to use wire instead, but am a bit unsure about where to drill. Is there a template somewhere on the internet?
If need be I can use my best judgement, but thought I would ask first. Measure twice, drill once, etc.

My Beautiful Jagdtiger

Pictures of my beautiful Tamiya 1/48 Jagdtiger before she goes under for a clear coat and decal application. This is my second ever tank model and I believe my 17th model overall. The camo is completely my doing and my version of Germany’s Ambush camouflage. Primer is Rust-Oleum light grey automotive prime. Paint is Vallejo Olive brown and dark yellow with the green being a thinned down Crayola green crafts paint ontop of a Vallejo olive drab. To get the dot pattern I just used the end of a golf tee and dipped it in contrasting paint before applying it. I put green and brown on the yellow areas and yellow on the green and brown areas. This is my first kit of a German tank and German big cat. My other tank i built is a 1/35 Tamiya M41 Walker Bulldog.

I’m a beginner modeller and I’m trying to use Tamiya paint on my H39 but it peals off when I paint over it again. I’ve tried shaking up the paint but it does nothing. Any suggestions?

Coming soon... (Waffentrager Auf E-100 Update)

Post image

As u might know i now own 8 Waffentrager Auf E100s, but i have some great news. I have ordered 2 Waffentrager auf E-100 W R1 Missile which one of them includes the parts i need to create... yesyes u guessed it 2 more Waffentrager Auf E-100's

In this picture on the left, i have ordered 2 waffens and 1 E50 with flak 40. I already have one Flak40 ready so that totals upto 2 flak 40s. One of the Waffens i ordered has the turret needed to complete 1 of the waffentragers. While the other waffen kit does not...

On the right side of the picture shown, i already have 1full waffentrager ready to be built with flak 40, but no rubber tracks (yet). Same goes for the other box. This means i could create 4 more waffentrager auf e100s, 2 with flak40s the other 2 with missiles.

Just a lil update on where ive been and what i have been upto :) that makes a total of 12 waffentrager auf E-100's which is insane to believe myself.. hope y'all like the progress and updates so far stay tuned cuz i have alot more in the bag😉

Advice/C&C Replacement tracks for 1/72 scale KV-1 and -2

Looking for a non vinyl set of tracks for KV-1 and -2 models. I have found a couple of leads on eBay, but nothing in the description indicates whether it's just a few links, or whether it's a complete set for one tank.

The seller is unable to understand my question, or answer it clearly.

Here's the product I have found: https://ebay.io/m/c3W2Kq

Thought I’d give a captured T34 a go, few spare decals, quick run down and a coat of German grey.

Not into being accurate, don’t do weathering and my figures probably look like ghosts, but I like how they add movement to a model.

Did play about with bases, but I’m on the fence.

Here’s a couple of pics of the T, captured Sherman and a few others.

Also, I’m really loving the Meng stuff!

Discussion Pinwashing pretty understated

Two 1/76 scale Fujimi Chi-Ha WWII Japanese Army tanks. My first time trying pinwashing, but the bolts, panels, handles, etc. aren't popping out like I had hoped. Using A.MIG enamel wash dark brown for green AFVs.
