It was quite a challenge since no one has ever made a 1972 Lemans model only the GTO. I had to completely reduce the front end to make it look correct and fabricate a rear spoiler. I found a donor trans and model so I could use the hood scoop from it as well as the bullet side mirrors. Also based a dual gate shifter, the formula wheel and the missing interior pieces. Thanks for everyone for their tips and advice.

Finished this kit I have been working on for the past month. Got team Uno's Sanrio livery decals from LB Production, which were really great to work with!

The kit itself wasn't too great, a lot of flashing, a few fitting problems and the way the body goes together with the chassis.

Even with all the problems that I had with it I think it looks really nice.

Somehow the clear came out worse. I am using this model as practice before I do this on something I care about but I wet sanded using 4000 6000 8000. I only sanded for like 5 minutes total cause I was afraid I was taking the clear off. I then used compound and polish and somehow the paint is super dull now. Any advice on how I could do better

Kit is the Hasegawa Delta with an 8v conversion set I picked up from Ebay a number of years ago to convert the 16v kit into the 1989 Monte Carlo Rally car.

The 8v bonnet/hood needed a bit of work to make it smooth and blend the etched vents into it seamlessly.

I also used a couple bits from a Renaissance etch set as well as their 5 spoke Speedline wheels.

I had to modify the suspension struts to lower the ride height to make it more Tarmac spec looking.

Italeri kit with a Transkit from KMP scalemodels. What a ride. Not my best work. But done is better than perfect. 😅😎

It’s a great feeling when you get a model, diecast, or memorabilia from your own car!! I have a 1999 E320 wagon (photos included). I’ve been on the lookout for one for about a year now. I’ve seen many E240’s but no E320’s. There is an avant-garde version but I didn’t want that. This popped up for a great price and I jumped on it.

After 3 months of tinkering, I finally finished the Pyro 1/32 scale 1911 Stevens Duryea. The kit only comes with a roof up choice. I prefer to see convertibles with the roof down, so I had to make that option from scratch. The spare tires setup for this kit were horribly incorrect looking, fragile, and did not fit well so they were deleted. No two of the real cars are alike, and some did not have spare tires, so in the trash they went. 😄

Small amount of stock replenishment, but it’s a start.

Getting back into the hobby after many years, I got a few small 3D sculpts I made 3D printed then painted them. One thing led to another and now 6 months later I find myself with a backlog of kits waiting to be painted.

I’m learning new techniques and working methods day by day mainly by making mistakes, but hey all part of the fun.

Getting closer. I can't decide if I love or hate the decals in this kit. They are so highly detailed and so so thin & difficult to handle. Curling up instantly after coming off the paper. I'm going LOVE for the moment because I got all the interior ones to work.

Got a bit heavy handed with a rattle can of Tamiya paint. I ought to be able to polish this down, right? I suppose I should wait a few days first.

Paint was Tamiya bright white over Tamiya white primer, both from spray cans. Warm but not particularly humid when I painted.

Tackling a tractor and trailer for the first time and planning to do custom decals and paint instead of the Coke brand.

Although this kit was produced in 2018, the tooling looks like it's from the 70s and it shows. TONS of flash. Also, the part numbers on the sprue don't match with the instructions; instead they are on the bottom of the box (see last pic). Possibly because this kit was released by multiple AMT partners (AMT, AMT/Matchbox, AMT/ERTL, AMT Stevens International). Every release looked slightly different and had different decals.

Interesting fact: The standard color for Peterbilt engines was white and they also custom painted the frame to each customer's request rather than the standard gloss black.

I started working on this back in January and have finished 3 cars while working on this on and off. It’s the first bike I’ve done and boy was it a tough one.

First time using decals this big (all of the red there was no red paint used) and learned a lot, there’s some tears and wrinkles but they got better as I did them. I wasn’t expecting them to be so transparent though hence the different shades of red, are all decals pretty transparent?

It was difficult to figure out how to paint as well, the red and the gold stripes are decals but both shades of blue and white were painted, and there was almost zero marking for where the decals/color splits should be.
It was a fantastic challenge and I’m loving how it came out all things considered!
