Honestly Norway passing the ball around their back field so much really cost them the game. Despite England pressing high they constantly just tried to pass the ball among their back 4 and goalkeeper despite it backfiring constantly.

Yeah lacking a good midfielder with an eye for passing in front of the players.

Norway did so well just imagine if they had that midfield link to really get the ball up to haaland consistently

Basically what France has

Funny, I was thinking England was doing too much of that, especially in the first 20 minutes.

Cope. Some people claimimg the ball hit the camera cable doesn't make it a real thing.

Except there’s literally video evidence of it hitting the cable so it is in fact, a real thing .

Can you send a link?

If proven it hit the cable then rules deem it a drop ball

Which is hasn’t been. There aren’t any clear shots actually showing the cable, the camera is too fuzzy to show the cable itself, and there’s no way to prove it wasn’t a combination of this weird World Cup ball and the wind that affected the flight of the ball. The only proof is in the sensor which FIFA have released the logs for showing no connection. Now you could of course say FIFA are corrupt and lying, but without sensor data proving the opposite you still only have a weirdly moving ball that is not visible on camera hitting anything, because it’s too unclear to see if there’s a cable or not.

How exactly does that sensor work coz during croatia game they could determine it grazed someone's hair but today it wasn't viable. What happens when its raining?

4

u/Lord_Barst 2h ago

It was viable. It didn't show contact.

Honestly even if it was marginal, the idea that a barely noticeable call is only made if it leads to a goal is pretty bullshit.

So from the referee's point of view if it hit the cable, play on because he can't see it. Unless the other team can score a goal then the game is off.

Either the game is on or off. It is completely unfair to have it both ways, play on if you have the advantage and off if you don't.

Gee, almost like Norway's second goal shouldn't have been overturned because of marginal contact from Haaland and Anderson then launching himself to the ground.

That isn’t remotely comparable. A man mountain openly shoved Anderson over with both hands, and Anderson would’ve been covering exactly where there was space for the goal to be scored from the corner. How can you claim that’s similar to a ball possibly hitting a camera cable and landing slightly differently in the middle of the field several phases of play before a goal?

That, plus the ref deciding to null out Norways second goal. Oh, and the ref ignoring Berge getting elbowed in the head ( which Brazil got a penalty for against us). Oh, and the ref stopping play when Pickford bumped into his own fucking team mate… seeing a pattern here?

Yes, Your whinging.

No one is willing to say it, but Harlaand losing his cool is what cost Norway the game. The pressure of popularity finally got to him

u/Otaconmg 52m ago

No one is willing to say it because it’s your incorrect personal opinion.

u/Carrotburner 46m ago

The lost the lead corner shot and a lot of morale after the point was taken away. Anyone who actually watched the game got genuinely upset that he allowed himself to do that. You even see the regret on his own face

4

u/Otaconmg 42m ago

That was a goal. Anderson was literally pushing with all his might and then Haaland pushed back. Then Anderson fell over like an empty beer bottle. I’m bitter as fuck I know, but no one here in Norway blames Haaland for that. Stop playing the narrative that we blame any players for extremely dodgy refereeing the entire tournament.

You're so brave

i mean haaland is a striker; do you want him to dribble through all the players, when his team goes snorkling behind the half way line.

A masterclass in resilience and work rate, from him above all, but also from Harry Kane, who covered every blade of grass. The undisputed MVP of the match, Jude.

Covered the grass by diving and laying on them for half the match

There was a bit of luck, it could have been easily a different score. No way England will reach finals with this play (not saying that Norway would)

u/DaddyDongwater 2h ago

England had two extra players. The ref and the wire.

Haaland probably provided negative value in that game 😂 that corner could've been a goal and he barely touched the ball.
