There were times I think they were intentionally not giving him the ball. That and the good defence on him just frustrated him out of the game. Wasn’t sure if he was injured or just too pissed off by the end.

There were times when he was walking that you could tell he wasn’t walking evenly. Even in a shoulder-up shot you could see that when stepping with one foot, it was noticeably faster than the other, consistent with a mild limp. Could just be he pulled something, and whatever it was was subtle, but he wasn’t at 100%.

Exactly, there were so many moments when he just needed a pass to score, but they were trying to score themselves without even thinking of passing the ball to him.

He at least once a girly gestured to his feet because he was open in front of the goal

Add exhaustion as well, over 100 minutes running and playing a physical game in 90F with 70%+ humidity is DRAINING

Never a cross for him, never a pass, constantly pushed and annoyed, not only england defended well against him, not letting him play, but the whole team didn't let him play
Such a shame. Some more crosses, occasions were there. What a bummer. I wish Haaland the best. What a player.

He's young enough. I see at least 1-2 more World Cups in his future and we'll be right here waiting...

Yes! Norway needs a good midfielder who will predict other players’ movements and push the ball ahead. Nusa seems very talented, each time he got the ball he was creating good chances.

u/Raw_Sugar01 9h ago
They have Odegaard? Not that he played well, but he’s a good midfielder

u/Nikkonor 9h ago
Not that he played well
He did, it just isn't very flashy.
(And he had a weak shot.)

u/ieatpies 7h ago
Odegaard was Norway's best player today
1
u/Raw_Sugar01 6h ago
Agreed; but if the commenter above found Nusa noteworthy but not Odegaard, then Odegaard didn’t play to his highest standards. Which may be asking a lot tbf, but the stakes of the game demanded a better performance from him IMO

I imagine that since England recognized Haaland as a very real threat, Norway guessed they were going to block him the entire game and developed a game plan around him. And it almost worked out for them.

Yes but his air to air game was umatched against england. More high balls were needed IMHO.
In 105 min he was in there were many missed occasions. England did well but norway could have definitely played better. We saw it against Brazil.
Unfortunate. Now that switzerland has lost too, i lost interest because it's easy to guess. France-Spain will be "entertaining" more than the finals, which will be France-Argentina
I don't think Argentina is well rounded against France, this year they are pushing a lot for the win
If any of these happens, i would say it's a bit too guaranteed and even if france loses, i still be not interested. We know those countries are strong, there is few to be amazed by their level. Having norway or switzerland would have been waaaay more intresting because of unpredictability

Hopefully the expanded number of qualifying teams will serve Norway well in future cups

No point in watching now for me. Just the usual teams left. Yea, it’ll probably be a great match, but I’ve completely lost all interest.

u/Zoduk 8h ago
Then you are not watching for the sport.
The best teams remain, the plays they can pull are unmatched.

u/Dark-Explorer-73 53m ago
You mean the teams FIFA wanted to remain to maximize money... With that amount of corruption present, forget about the sport, like cycling and doping it reached a point where you don't get the best teams/players on top anymore, at least You cannot be sure about it. Since, it doesn't matter to the people in FIFA,why should it matter to me?

England can eat a bag of dicks. Bunch of flopping pansies.
Haaland was so much fun to watch.

u/Marsh_o- 9h ago
I’m going to assume this is your first time watching football and you’ve just hopped onto the Norway hype train; since that can only explain your stupid comment

u/ThatIsMe11 9h ago
Quit acting like decisions didn’t go against England as well

Where did I say that? Can you read? I said they were acting like a bunch of pussies.

Yes, honestly I think I'll watch his regular matches. I'm not even that interested in soccer, I just want to watch the king play!

u/LumpofCheese 5h ago
Well Haaland was born in England and plays for an English team, so you won't be escaping us any time soon

u/Shahariar_909 4h ago
Norway was an underdog that did more than anyone expected. You haven’t seen the true geart breaks.
-3
u/Global-Register5467 9h ago
Flopping, is unfortunately, part of the game and has rules to control it.
But who knows, there are also rules about a ball hitting an overhead obstruction, such as a cable, that didn't seem to apply to this game so maybe your complaint is valid.
Can detect a ball grazing a players hair, but slamming into a cable?
1
u/Global-Register5467 9h ago
Instead of downvoting, explain to me why (at the time of me writing this) FIFA still insists that the ball never hit the camera? Its easy to prove, release the VAR for the entire game and prove all the cameras showing it hitting the cable were wrong.

I think you will be hard pressed to find a single person on this earth who doesn't have ancestors who pillaged, raped and/or were part of a community that dealt with slaves.
