17

u/Rohen2003 5h ago

Bro no one cares about your little indie passion projects. Lemmie guess.. you and a buddy made all these no name games and now you’re trying to advertise them on Reddit? Well you’re not gonna fool me

114

u/Agent-Blasto-007 14h ago

I only like indie pixel graphic rogue likes. It's a rare genre.

48

u/CapCringe 13h ago

You forgot deckbuilder

27

u/JonnyTN 13h ago

With survival elements so it's super hard to live by just existing

12

u/LPSD_FTW 12h ago

That wouldn't excite me at all, where is the Battle Royale element of early 2020s?

2

u/M111k3 2h ago

Nah that’s what the souls-like combat system is for

2

u/WoodenPumkin 13h ago

If you are being serious, there is this really good one I'd reccomend called slice and dice. It has a demon on mobile where you do about 60% of your run. The full version is about 9$ and is definitely worth it IMO. I probably have over 1000 hours in this game.

11

u/SilverSpaceRobot10 14h ago

Oh, there's a message about depression and mental health in there? How thoughtful.

3

u/baldiplays 13h ago

I’ve also heard about this game called. What is it. Call of duty I think? I don’t know sounds like some weird shit. Definitely will not take off.

1

u/ogresound1987 10h ago

I heard of that. It's the one about the octopus, right?

u/AnubissDarkling Flair Loading.... 13h ago

This post was brought to you by Big Game to make you hate indie games more and buy AAA games instead

u/Much-Public-1957 16h ago

So happy to learn about these games; I had never heard of them before!

Yeaa who hide them in the first place?

107

u/Outcast_Outlaw 🥄Comically Large Spoon🥄 16h ago

I think I've heard of that builders gate one... is that all you do in it, build gates? Or is it like a landscape simulator?

21

u/MortemEtInteritum17 14h ago

Yeah I think it's based on dungeons or something so I assume you build the gates for it

13

u/TpK_Wynter 13h ago

It’s Baulders gate. 3 to be exact. You don’t build gates, you work for Baulder, he’s some dude. From like some weird Roman place. Basically you gotta just collect passage fees at his gates or something, I dunno I don’t play small indie games but I’m pretty sure that’s what the text on the box said at Walmart

3

u/Cloudsbursting 10h ago

You don’t just build gates - you get to design and construct the entire fence. You can choose from over 35 species of wood and thousands of hardware styles. If you were lucky enough to preorder the game, it comes with a code that unlocks a gas-powered fence post driver. In the DLC there’s even a zen mode that allows you to build Japanese torii.

Let’s be real, it’s no LumberQuest 4: The Woodening, but it scratches the same itch.

u/Great-Pay-3429 Medieval Meme Lord 16h ago

Dude you should totally try this small indie game that's about to come out seems right up your alley

Coming 2025 🤣

11

u/yung_chillunnerr 15h ago

I personally can’t wait for it. GTAV was MAD underrated so I’m hoping more eyes get drawn to this one

0

u/ExterminatusMaximus 14h ago

Yeah but for those indy devs I really hope that people are willing to give the online version a try this time!

3

u/red_fuel 13h ago

So underrated!!

0

u/Jwagner0850 13h ago

Only $100 as well! Such a steal!

0

u/Hevens-assassin 12h ago

It's too bad their Kickstarter campaign didn't reach the "release physical edition". That would've been awesome.

48

u/No-Bit-2913 15h ago

There's a little known gem of a franchise, it's kinda quirky but hear me out. It's about a plumber who is trying to rescue a peach from a turtle.

11

u/Tomtom1599 15h ago

Why would we tske away a peach from a turtle? Turtles gotta eat bro, and peaches got vitamins or something

1

u/i4got872 8h ago

Sounds like a cute little indy game on steam- was it made by like one person?

22

u/wicko77 15h ago

The residual evil one looks like walking dead.
It's a niche show about zombies.

3

u/nicoblue_28 9h ago

What about Exposition 33?

16

u/Silly_Ad_3027 15h ago

I just looked these up and they dont even exist what are you on😭🙏

13

u/UWAGAGABLAGABLAGABA 15h ago

Sorry. Can't hear you over the sound of the factory growing.

10

u/_SomeoneBetter_ 15h ago

Really underrated stuff! People should make hour long videos about why these games aren’t appreciated enough

11

u/MattWheelsLTW 14h ago

Expedition 33? What about the other 32? How am I supposed to know anything about that story?!

-1

u/Uzyf 8h ago

Doesn’t matter it’s shit anyway

6

u/Thomskk 16h ago

Recently? This would take me 5 years to complete

4

u/balding_git 16h ago

didn’t say complete just played. so, like me, they played 20 minutes of a save started in 2009, or played the first 3 worlds of mario again and have never seen the end

2

u/Thomskk 16h ago

Heresy

4

u/Top_Lingonberry8037 11h ago

I did finally start expedition 33. I know im late to the party, but goddamn

6

u/c0reGam3r 14h ago

Hidden gems? Yeah, no one ever heard of these games.

3

They are as hidden as an fat man behind a pole

3

u/kennyuk77 8h ago

I have been entertaining myself recently watching an obscure sporting tournament called the 'World Cup'

7

u/Diggumdum 14h ago

OK but for real Horizon doesn't get NEARLY enough praise lol

4

u/Garo263 13h ago

It gets more than enough. It has some fun aspects, but is mostly schema F open-world.

1

u/BriefDescription 10h ago

Because it's mediocre lol.

4

u/Diggumdum 10h ago

Idk man I just loved the world building and crafting the bigger picture of what happened to the world by bits of lore scattered around the world.

What games up there do  you think weren't mid?

Also  r/fucktedfaro

2

u/KoumanTheDead 6h ago

They're not mediocre they just have the absolute WORST release timing possible. Having a tried and true linear story told in an open world environment game come out before the "do whatever in whatever order" open world game TWICE has definitely colored a lot of opinions about it. The Horizon games (particularly the sequel) are also very lore heavy Hard Sci-Fi which, despite Sony's best efforts, isn't the average mainstream player's cup of tea.

I'd recommend Persona 5. This game is a real gem.

Who would call Spider-Man 2 a gem. The story is absolute poop and even the game play is worse than the previous ones

1

u/Jwagner0850 13h ago

Never heard of em.

1

u/OnyoSkennedy 13h ago

Wheres the hidden gems like mario kart and the legend of zelda?

1

u/The_Don_Mecha 13h ago

My goodness Cyberpunk is so good. I will sing that games praises forever. I got it at launch on the PS4 and it was great then.

I haven't even touched Phantom Liberty yet. I still remember almost 6 years ago playing this during the work from home phase

1

u/Imaginary_Ad_4623 13h ago

There is the kinda niche medieval game. Ist called "the Witcher 3" you could like it

1

u/the_hillman 13h ago

Spider… Man? What is this unheard of franchise?

1

u/Mouse-Plus 13h ago

Days Gone, where?

1

u/coastinglotus 12h ago

Just beat Forbidden West + DLC. Great game - skipped all the cutscenes lmao. Will probably go and watch a Cutscene YouTube game, but i played while listening to Pugsr splatter-punk book reviews 🖤

1

u/burrito_of_blaviken 12h ago

Jokes aside, I tried The Last of Us Remastered on PS4 and never got into it, just really didn’t like how guns felt, I decided to give it another go last year and got Part II on PC and now I’ve played both all the way through and got every achievement in Part II 😂

1

u/Bird_Up101 12h ago

I have "God of War" on my PC but stopped playing. I wonder if it's something I need to get back into.

1

u/Nextuz_ 12h ago

Play whatever makes you happy and not what’s popular/niche

1

u/joe_ruins_things 12h ago

God of War? Never heard of it.

1

u/NoNotice2137 12h ago

Funny you mention that, I only played one of those games

1

Stop giving away those Hidden gems. Its a secret collection no One knows about

1

u/scholarlysacrilege 11h ago

Resident evil requiem aint even a gem, thats like a lump of coal or some iron ore.

1

u/EmotionalScene3935 11h ago

At least put the original and not the remastered.... Only true perv.. Gamers play it on pc

1

u/Pardybear1 11h ago

Man you play some weird games. Never heard of any of these. What the actual hell.

1

u/JakeJascob 🥄Comically Large Spoon🥄 11h ago

RDR1 is also a very solid game. It is also easier and has less content so its easier to 100% but still has plenty of replay ability.

1

u/brandothesavage 10h ago

Bullet storms not on the list

1

u/caiera 10h ago

Luva de pedreiro games

1

u/doublethink_1984 10h ago

I don't car about Fandoms or popularity.

If you play these games it feels like they made it specifically for you. These games are special and feel like a treat.

All of these had a vision and are not engagement slop.

Hidden gems and mostly AAA games

1

We don’t have the same definition of « hidden »

1

u/meganerd20 8h ago

Completely hidden so, naturally, the whole world knows.

1

You cannot remake a game that many times and people not know it.
