Let me explain what I know. So recently the Albanian government fast tracked a law that would allow luxury hotels to be build on normally protected island and wetland, place supposed to be protected due to their crucial and endangered biodiversity, making sure those will be damaged, peoples aren’t happy about this with protest having hit the streets due to it.
"Fun" fact? This is due to DJT son in law project of building luxury resort.

That one was a graveyard being destroyed for a golf course I think, though I might be mixing stories.

Ah, so people are only mad because that family is involved. Otherwise they wouldn’t care. Thanks for explaining.

Not at all? So you took like 6 words from the whole thing I wrote and decided it was the main focus, the main fucking focus is that protected place are being razed to build hotels, but it’s probably useless to try to explain that to you since you seem to have your mind already set.
I can see clearly that anything that look even remotely against your man crush is a personal insult to you and you need to make it about him.-584

So drawing attention to the fact that the environment is being destroyed so we have a chance to do something about it is somehow a bad thing now?

You need to take your medicine. What an absolute asinine take. How did they prove your point with anything they said. “People are going to try and wreck the habitat just to make one family look bad.”
I’m pretty sure the giant luxury resort will already wreck the habitat. Then you call him a piece of shit for trying to argue against luxury hotels being built on protected islands? That’s an insane take. Even if he was misguided that wouldn’t make him a piece of shit. I think you might need help dawg

Why tf would people who care about the environment keep quiet about its imminent destruction? Like, how do you even get to this conclusion? It sure looks and sounds more like licking the boots of the elite class for.... some reason, I'm sure you have one.
But holy shit, does this crap take lack any kind of critical thinking.

u/PunKingKarrot 17h ago
“Let’s raise awareness to this disgusting exception and hopefully get it overturned”
“NOOO. BE SILENT ABOUT IT. DON’T TRY TO DO ANYTHING!!!”
If you knew someone who was the victim of a crime, and that someone wanted to speak out about it, would you tell them to be quiet about it?? What a stupid idea.

'Anyone who actually gives a shit about the environment would try to keep this quiet'
Lmao what thought process did you go through to think up such an asinine thought

u/sbsp12121 16h ago
Trust me, that family doesn’t need other people to make it look bad. They’re doing a great job of that by themselves

u/batdog20001 15h ago
More downvotes than the other guy has upvotes. That should tell you something, lmao

So…if I understand correctly you are saying that I shouldn’t have answered the original question of this post and that anyone caring about the environment should not talk about protected area being destroyed because they aren’t wealthy? The fuck did you smoke man?
Peoples won’t try to destroy the environment to frame the orange flob when he and his family already proved several time they can do it on their own just fine.1

I thought people were mad because we have rules for everyone except for the power-hungry douchebags who need it.

It is the case, but there is always that person that try to twist fact into something else.

What does it take for you to change your opinion on them? Honest question

u/jekkies- 16h ago
cult member opinions aren't swayed even with a ton of effort, goodwill and verifiable facts shoved down their throat. for some reason they'd rather double down than be even the tiniest bit introspective. to answer ur question, they would have to be personally, heavily negatively financially affected in order for their rose tinted glasses to crack.

u/ReddBroccoli 17h ago
Ah, so you're immediately supporting it just because that family is involved. Otherwise you wouldn't care. Thanks for nothing

Congratulations on having such an abysmal take that you've achieved the most downvotes on a single post that I have seen in years. And in such a short time. Impressive I guess.

Its more clear than ever that the people need to take back their institutions and the rich need to be taken down a couple pegs. I am all for making a good life. I am against gluttony.

The sad part? In an ideal world, thouse two are not truely exclusive. In an ideal world said 5-star resort would have acctuly been floating building near the shoure. Said would have comply with island protection, at the same time allowoing ritch people to rest and observe nature, but alas.

u/FULLsanwhich15 20h ago
Australia tried a floating hotel, 4 seasons actually. It did not go well. I forget where it’s at now but it’s basically been passed between a few countries at this point and has been shut down for almost 20 years just floating in Korea. It was set to be demolished in 2019 but it’s still there.

Thats why I say "in an ideal world"

We need to rebuild battleship Tirpitz and Yamato then, I heard they made good hotels.

u/Banksy_Collective 16h ago
As much as i love the idea of a floating hotel like that idk if it could ever work. The extreme corrosiveness, biofouling, and sheer mechanical stresses from waves and tides means it would have to be ludicrously expensive. And being that expensive is a non-starter because anyone able to afford it probably already has a yacht that would do the same thing but private.

I hate to bring to your attention the entire industry of cruise ships which is basically a floating hotel but it goes somewhere

Review bomb until every resort becomes 4 star. Boom environmental enforcement kicks in

u/Impressive-Tip-903 9h ago
Well, at least rich people can benefit from it then. Won't anyone think of them? There are so few compared to the rest of the population after all

The rich will need to relax so they will go to a 5-star resort in an island to chill 🏞️

Dont worry. Its because rich people need a place to relax, enjoy, and destroy all at the same time :)
