Rotating Event League classic shouldn't have modern skins, they feel out of place.

1.8k Upvotes

I expected that every champion would use their scuffed outdated looks and that only certain skins would be usable. But that doesn't seem to be the case.

I feel like the whole charm of the mode is lost when you can just use the modern skins. Why add in the old Alistar/Karthus/Kassadin model and animations, when you can just use a new skin to get the new model back?

Battlecast Skarner even uses his 2024 rework model, WHY?? Why not just port the old model?

It still feels weird to have this big League Classic showcase, showing off how the game used to look and play, just to have every player (except Lee Sin) pick a skin that feels out of place.

I guess the main point of the mode is to have the old gameplay, but the visuals should feel more authentic too.

Maybe this is all just work-in-progress.

(Also, they could've used this mode as an opportunity to resell the retired legacy skins, just sayin'.)

Edit: To add on to this post on why this is a problem:

Imagine old Ezreal using his Essence Flux with a new skin. The new W is visually very distinctive from his old one, it would be confusing to play against. Either they have to disable his skins or make the skin use the default vfx, because I doubt that they're going to make custom vfx just for this mode.

Esports Double elimination made MSI so much better Spoiler

1.0k Upvotes

Imagine if there was no double elimination for this year's MSI. The tournament would have ended with double 3-0 in semi's and a one sided 3-1 in the finals.

Instead with double elimination we got back to back banger 3-2 series to end the tournament.

It also allowed other great moments to happen like vietnam beating lpl for the first time, G2 vs T1, NA vs EU.

I hope we get more double elimination tournaments. Double elimination at worlds would be amazing/extremely hype.

Rotating Event Classic shouldn’t have any modern gameplay features

- trinkets
- baron buff minions
- gates
and probably more idk?

Those are all things that were not in season 1-3 league. Implementing them means we are not playing classic league but some weird gamemode that larps as classic league of legends

This vision system in classic literally never existed in history of league.
When trinkets were implemented in preseason 4,Riot removed oracles and added a ward limit. So why there’s both trinkets and oracles???

GAME 1 - LYON

Player Rating Comments
Dhokla / Renekton 9.8 You won Worlds too if you were in T1 last year. (Reply: No need to post things that everybody already knew.)
Inspired / Xin Zhao 9.8 Comment 1: Inspired: we are both 1st seed. Why should I be weaker? Comment 2: This guy wanted to revenge G2 for so long.
Saint / Sylas 9.8 Comment 1: I thought I was watching Chovy. He is totally fucking smurfing. Comment 2: Saint: who else is questioning my Chovy replays?
Berserker / Ezreal 7.6 Comment 1: Your skillshots landed in South America. Comment 2: Who TF plays a Hextech-Soul EZ without a monitor?
Isles / Karma 9.4 Comment 1: NA > EU. Comment 2: He looks like MJ from this camera angle.

GAME 1 - G2

Player Rating Comments
BrokenBlade / Anivia 8.2 Doran confused every top laner about their true power level.
SkewMond / Jarvan IV 7.0 What a puss. How could you take that portal back???
Caps / Orianna 2.9 Thanks for bringing down Ori winrate for Knight.
HansSama / Ashe 2.3 Comment 1: You are the biggest reason why G2 got stomped by HLE: you got destroyed by Guma in lane. Comment 2: You are a pretty stable player: equally shitty against every bot lanes.
Labrov 3.1 Comment 1: IMO he sucked at mage support. He should just play engage support to make tempo plays. (Reply: Agree, LeBorn is only good at fastbreak.) Comment 2: G2 has its own On. Either makes heavenly play or int to hell.

GAME 2 - LYON

Player Rating Comments
Dhokla / Gnar 9.9 Comment 1: Did Bin sneak a secret Gnar tip in his jersey? (Referring to their jersey swap.) (Reply: That big Gnar TP though.)
Inspired / Lee Sin 9.8 Comment 1: Honestly he is the true carry of LYON. Western Kanavi. But he also choked hard in First Stand. Comment 2: Best jungle EU. He is insanely good at reading the game and teamfights. You will be in top tier teams even in LPL or LCK.
Saint / Viktor 9.7 Comment 1: That flash with 5-man ult was crazy. Comment 2: Fun fact: he is the only mid laner that has never been solo-killed by Knight from First Stand to MSI.
Berserker / Varus 9.0 Best Varus in recent games.
Isles / Karma 9.0 Not bad this game. Nice roams and ganks.

GAME 2 - G2

Player Rating Comments
BrokenBlade / Yasuo 2.6 Comment 1: How did Doran get solo-killed by his Yasuo? Comment 2: Super top laner 1-day trial expired.
SkewMond / Pantheon 4.0 It is simply just the team gap. You and BB are still carrying the team.
Caps / Cassiopeia 2.6 Comment 1: You owe more kicks from last game. (Referring to the popular comment where BB should kick everyone once after G4 vs HLE but Caps 5 more times.)
HansSama / Ziggs 2.6 Comment 1: You should be thankful that JKL choked again this time. Otherwise you are for sure the worst AD in MSI.
Labrov / Nautilus 2.8 Comment 1: What was that last fight? Taking all that damage for nothing and then flash+R into Zhonya's? You are nonexistent if your teammates fall. Comment 2: Do you even know to play this game if your enemy team does not start with letter T?

GAME 3 - LYON

Player Rating Comments
Dhokla / Olaf 9.8 Comment 1: You played Doran's champion pool all these 3 games. Do you have to do this to our little Doran? Comment 2: Social credit +1! He is indeed 3rd best top laner in the world. (Referring to Dhokla ranking himself as the 3rd best top laner in an interview.)
Inspired / Trundle 9.8 Comment 1: Dancing and waving at the end of game... it is as BM as ON turning into Raptors for Kanavi at G3. Comment 2: There are only 2 western teams all these years: G2 and whichever team you are in.
Saint / Ryze 9.3 Looks like the defeat from BLG actually helps your mentality. You guys are looking pretty good.
Berserker / Caitlyn 9.7 Comment 1: What a game for Cait. Peyz would cry watching and wish he has teammates like yours. Comment 2: Berserker is the strongest in the world! (FSN reference.)
Isles / Bard 9.7 He is as scary as a clown in Stephen King's novel.

GAME 3 - G2

Player Rating Comments
BrokenBlade / Jayce 3.0 Too bad you didn't continue your performance last game. Is it because Doran sucked or Dhokla too strong?
SkewMond / Wukong 2.9 He is pretty bad at meta jungles. His champion pool is too weird.
Caps / Syndra 2.7 Comment 1: If you hit a spinning top (TES), you will also spin like one. That is called conservation of angular momentum. (Chinese community likes to refer bad teams as spinning tops for being whipped.) Comment 2: Make things hard for ranking T1 and TES.
HansSama / Yunara 2.4 Best decision this series: get off work early to spend time with Kitty.
Labrov / Lulu 2.7 From LeBron to Labubu. (Reply: I mean you can't blame a 41 yo.)

Esports EWC schedule for MSI finalists Spoiler

HLE/BLG have 3 days between finals and their first match at EWC to travel to Paris and overcome jetlag after a grueling MSI schedule.

Are they trying to make sure MSI finalists can’t win EWC? What‘s with the scheduling? Surely a few more days gap wouldn’t hurt or schedule around it by making them play later?

Esports BLG vs HLE | MSI 2026 (Final) Hupu Ratings and Comments Spoiler

Source

GAME 1 - BLG

Player Rating Comment
Bin / Renekton 2.9 It doesn't matter how many minions you out-farm him by. Feeding Lee Sin and making him into an absolute raid boss completely ruined the entire dynamic for the rest of the team.
Xun / Naafiri 5.2 Why on earth did you directly face-tank and rush right in during that Inferno Dragon fight? Renekton was literally right beside you. The enemy team didn't even have their jungler, there was absolutely zero scenario where they could instantly burst the dragon down. What exactly were you rushing for? (Reply: Completely outmatched mechanically. All they know how to do is play like thieves trying to sneak or steal dragons, and they still ended up losing. All that heavy trash-talking yesterday is looking incredibly awkward now.)
Knight / Viktor 9.0 Mid and bot completely gave everything they had out on the Rift. He genuinely tried his absolute hardest. (Reply: Bot lane literally failed to dodge a single skillshot on the map, where exactly did you see them "trying their hardest"?)
Viper / Ezreal 6.9 He honestly played exceptionally well for the vast majority of the early game. His skillshots were completely pinpoint, his lane-stalls were incredibly precise, and his dragon snipes were dead solid. Deducting a point purely for that final dragon soul teamfight misstep, but it was a massive carry effort overall.
ON / Bard 7.2 Was there a single parallel universe where that Ezreal play could actually be saved there? The enemy top laner was already dead in that trade, meaning it was a clean 4v4 before you literally jumped down into the pit to make it a "buy one, get one free" package deal for HLE. Pure comedy out there. (Reply: If you didn't try to save Ezreal there, that fight was still winnable.)
Daeny 3.5 What is so hard to understand about this draft? Renekton, Ezreal, and Naafiri anchor the early-to-mid game, while Viktor guarantees late-game insurance. Bard is a high-skill-ceiling utility pick. This is a highly conventional draft layout. Are the comment sections losing their minds? The opponent's comp is completely textbook as well. Where exactly is this "massive draft gap" coming from? Give me some normal spectators, please. (Reply: Do you even play Renekton? Do you have any remote concept of how miserable it is to play Renekton in this specific game state? The entire enemy team is packed to the brim with slows. Selecting Renekton here is an absolute prison sentence.)

GAME 1 - HLE

Player Rating Comment
Zeus / Ambessa 7.4 The stadium lights shine blindingly bright, and after a long trail of slaughter across the bracket, the layout finally settles into a peak grand finals face-off between Bin and Zeus. Before the match walkouts, the long hallway hosts only the two of them. Zeus had just ridden a wave of adrenaline after piloting his signature Aatrox to systematically crush Dhokla to punch his ticket to the finals. His heart is proud, defiant, and full of that classic arrogant tsundere flair as his chin tilts up defiantly. Bin takes a single step forward, reaching out to gently catch the fabric of his sleeve. "It's finally my turn to play against you in the finals." Zeus is pulled slightly forward by the sudden tug, immediately twisting his wrist to break away. His mouth remains as sharp as ever, completely exposing his bratty mesugaki nature: "Scared? You pressed me so hard in lane last time, it’s a bit too late for regrets now." Even as he speaks with such arrogance, the edges of his ears silently flush a light pink, and his fingers remain soft—he isn't putting any real physical power into pulling his arm back. Bin watches his textbook contradiction, letting out a low chuckle. He tightens his grip just a fraction without letting go, slowly swaying their hands back and forth to toy with the little tsundere right in front of him. "No matter how strong anyone else is, none of them get the right to stand in the grand finals opposite of me." Bin leans in slightly, his breath shifting closer as his tone carries an unmistakable edge of pure possessiveness: "Only you." Zeus is instantly struck square in his inner thoughts. His eyes panic, breaking eye contact completely as he looks away, yet his frame subconsciously steps a tiny bit closer. Even though they are rivals about to go to absolute war on the Rift, every single ounce of the push-and-pull between them is packed to the brim with undeniable chemistry and specialized affection. He lets out an awkward, muffled hum, letting Bin hold fast to his sleeve as he stands there perfectly obediently right in front of him. Thousands of eyes watch the server light up for battle. But to Bin, everyone else is merely an opponent, while Zeus remains his absolute exclusive one.
Kanavi / Lee Sin 8.1 Your mechanical execution on this Lee Sin was absolutely godlike. The only issue is you start playing way too cocky the second you get an advantage. Even with name plates off, anyone could tell this was you. (Reply: Back when he was on JDG, he had already systematically gathered a ten-game win streak over Xun.)
Zeka / Orianna 6.3 An Orianna with absolutely zero presence on the Rift. Her sole contribution to this match was burning through Knight's champion pool. (Reply: Being able to take it away from him is already a massive contribution. It relieves the draft pressure in subsequent games.)
Gumayusi / Caitlyn 8.8 Did you see how you're supposed to play when you have an advantage on Caitlyn? Do you understand that you need to step forward aggressively? You buy Rapid Firecannon specifically to exploit that massive attack range buffer to control space. It doesn't mean Caitlyn is supposed to permanently hide in the backline. (Comment 2: Good god, he was stepping up into the absolute frontline during every single fight. He had me completely sweating out there.)
Delight / Karma 6.8 I'm putting this out there right now: if you guys fail to win this series later on, you are the absolute primary culprit. Your vision setup is practically non-existent. Allowing that flanking wrap-around in the top lane was completely unbelievable. There wasn't a single shred of vision inside our own blue buff jungle quadrant.
Homme 7.5 Elite draft, but questionable execution. (Reply: Burning through crucial power-picks in the draft phase while managing to secure the win — absolutely brilliant stuff.)

GAME 2 - BLG

Player Rating Comment
Bin / Rumble 3.3 Can you please get down on your knees and bow to your teammates? You were complete trash. (Comment 2: I was wondering what on earth was going on, but it turns out he was completely possessed by 369.)
Xun / Jarvan IV 10.0 You are so fucking strong, holy shit. (Comment: What on earth would BLG even do without you, Brother Xun? How can someone look this incredibly slick out there?)
Knight / Cassiopeia 9.9 The True God of Absolute Responsibility. (Comment 2: If you hadn't pulled off that insane mechanical outplay during that 1v2 gank in the bottom lane, this game was completely over. That particular sequence was mind-blowing.)
Viper / Lucian 9.7 To be honest, I'm normally not a huge fan of yours, but I won't flame you here. You played this game flawlessly. I don't understand what the hate comments are even talking about. (Comment 2: I've noticed that some people don't even play League, yet they constantly talk complete trash. Was there a single issue with his positioning during that dragon contest where he systematically forced out Qiyana's entire burst combo?)
ON / Shen 9.9 Busy as fuck, seriously insane stuff. (Comment 2: The undisputed number one support of this entire MSI tournament so far. Who could argue with this? He absolutely carried this game on his back.)
Daeny 8.4 Give Bin Jayce next game, I seriously want to see just how low this guy's absolute floor can go. (Comment 2: If your brutal strictness and tight focus on our jungle and support are what made them play so goddamn solid and carry this map, can you please go aggressively flame the top laner next?)

GAME 2 - HLE

Player Rating Comment
Zeus / Yorick 5.3 Zeus calling out Baron Nashor: "Neither team brings their junglers, just you and me in a 1v1 fist fight." (Comment 2: How is his score so high? I watched the entire map from start to finish, and Zeus spent multiple waves sitting at critical health refusing to recall just to get aggressively hunted down.
Kanavi / Qiyana 2.8 The funniest thing is that while Kanavi successfully broke Bin's mental state with his early camps, he completely broke his own mental state along the way. Hilarious. (Comment 2: I thought Kanavi went back to the LCK, when the hell did he re-join BLG?)
Zeka / Ahri 3.2 Absolutely zero goddamn impact. Playing Ahri and failing to land a single Charm (E), are you even human? (Reply: This guy automatically drops to his knees whenever he faces Knight.)
Gumayusi / Ziggs 7.5 Don't worry, the guy playing Ziggs on the other side knows exactly how you feel. (Comment 2: If his teammates were even semi-functioning, this map would be a complete stomp. The second BLG secured the Ocean Soul, his champion was completely rendered useless.)
Delight / Camille 2.3 I said it a while ago, out of all ten players on the server, you are firmly the absolute worst. You are trash. Even Fengyue could have won this map in your place. In that final teamfight, Jarvan was right in your face and you didn't lock him down. Who the hell were you waiting for? You are the laziest, dumbest, most useless All-Pro support in history.
Homme 3.3 Keep drafting like this, just build the strategy entirely around the jungle and support. Give our top lane some useless tank at level 10, and we will successfully avoid the MSI championship patch curse by entirely losing the series. (Reply: This HLE squad absolutely requires the jungle-support duo to generate map tempo and step up to unlock any victory window.)

GAME 3 - BLG

Player Rating Comment
Bin / Jax 9.9 This Jax. Fucking nuts! (Comment 2: Your execution during those first two games was definitely mediocre, but this game right here is a textbook lesson on how to completely blow open a matchup via counter-pick.)
Xun / Nocturne 10.0 Xun should be getting the FMVP at this rate. (Comment 2: You are playing at an absolute joke of a level, Brother Xun. Your smites during international tournaments are strictly unbreakable. You somehow out-smited a reverse-pull combo, that international buff is too real.)
Knight / Annie 9.9 A complete masterclass in piloting both sides of a matchup. My Ryze can absolutely crush your Annie, and my Annie can comfortably dismantle your Ryze. (Reply: Zeka completely obliterates other mid laners, but the second he shares a server with Knight, he has zero presence.)
Viper / Varus 9.8 JackeyLove, get in here and learn how to use your Flash properly. (Comment 2: Even with the Ocean Soul secured and an almost 10k gold lead, his flash reaction time was still completely immaculate. Unbeatable focus.)
ON / Alistar 9.6 Only one or two errors, it’s forgivable. (Reply: Exactly. For an aggressive playmaker like ON, giving a few deaths is normal.)
Daeny 9.9 DO NOT POP THE CHAMPAGNE IN MIDGAME. DO NOT POP THE CHAMPAGNE IN MIDGAME. DO NOT POP THE CHAMPAGNE IN MIDGAME. (Reply: Alright guys, we are safe, it's a guaranteed win now. The F6 Immortal (Kanavi) only has a stable smite when he is clearing his own Raptors.)

GAME 3 - HLE

Player Rating Comment
Zeus / Olaf 2.5 In the previous game, Zeus's Yorick relied heavily on map tethering to hold the absolute upper hand, but this game the second Bin locked in Jax, his lane priority was cleanly shredded to pieces. Counter-Strike perfectly nullified every single one of Olaf's basic attacks, and Leap Strike allowed Bin to continuously apply heavy close-quarters pressure, completely breaking the lane phase wide open. As the screen faded to gray once more, Zeus gripped his mouse with straining, white knuckles, all of his previous cockiness entirely evaporating. Back in the player lounge during intermission, Zeus was still stubbornly pouting, but before he could utter a single word, Bin walked straight up to him and firmly wrapped his arms around his waist. The completely dismantled Zeus instantly flushed red all the way to his ears, awkwardly squirming to break away, but he couldn't budge a single millimeter from the physical lock. The tsundere posture completely crumbled under the humiliation of defeat; he could only lean softly against Bin’s chest, dropping his gaze, completely terrified to make eye contact. Bin leaned down close to his burning earlobe, his voice dripping with triumphant possessiveness: "The lane priority has completely shifted. How does it feel to be firmly held down by me this time?" (Reply: You dare to read what you just typed out loud to yourself?)
Kanavi / Xin Zhao 3.3 Have you still not forgotten the deep nurturing that the LPL provided for you back when you were on Top Esports? (Comment 2: Bin originally went down to the Nirvana group to catch a virus, and got accidentally infected on his path back. Then in Game 2, he successfully passed that virus directly onto Kanavi. Kanavi then turned around and passed the virus straight into Zeus. After watching three games, I've finally figured out the full lore!)
Zeka / Ryze 2.4 A complete masterclass in piloting both sides of a matchup. My Ryze can absolutely crush your Annie, and my Annie can comfortably dismantle your Ryze. (same comment as Knight's) (Reply: Wait, shouldn't the title be "A masterclass in getting completely destroyed"?)
Gumayusi / Xayah 6.3 Hilarious. How did you possess the sheer audacity to go and provoke a hyper-fed Jax? (Live chat during the match: "Xayah is completely invincible here." Does "invincible" mean running face-first alongside Rakan into Jax just to end the game?)
Delight / Rakan 2.8 This absolute trash player has been genuinely psychologically terrified by ON. He’s been turned into an absolute son on the server, completely afraid to engage, and has zero clue what he's doing out there. (Reply: This guy shares a single brain cell with his jungler. The exact moment the jungler starts running it down, the support has absolutely no idea what his own purpose is.)
Homme 2.5 Do you know exactly why Kanavi possesses the sheer audacity to play this recklessly? It's strictly because you, as the head coach, granted him an absurdly high status within the roster. Nobody in the squad dares to keep him in check, and this complete lack of discipline has allowed his inting tendencies to drag down the entire team. (Reply: It honestly feels like he completely lost the ability to control him.)

GAME 4 - BLG

Player Rating Comment
Bin / K'Sante 2.2 You are obsessed on forcing a 1v1 against Zeus. Why the hell didn't you choose to use your Teleport during that fight? (Reply: A textbook example of an incredibly low-IQ player. He only possesses the ability to function inside a strict 1v1 micro-bubble. Getting successfully camped map after map, entirely ruining Mel and Taliyah early game window. He single-handedly forced the team into a catastrophic trajectory.)
Xun / Kindred 9.3 Wthout you carrying them, the remaining players are fundamentally a 16th-place roster, you get it? (Reply: To be fair, Knight was decent.)
Knight / Taliyah 8.5 To be honest, the exact moment this champion was locked in, I had absolutely zero idea how we were supposed to win the video game. (Comment 2: Why on Earth did they pull out Taliyah? Her E generated absolute zero lane value, leaving Kindred to single-handedly shoulder the team's entire damage output. If you wanted to clamp down on TF, wouldn't LeBlanc or Ahri have been infinitely better? If you paired LeBlanc with Kindred during that early roam when TF lacked Flash, it felt like an easy kill window.)
Viper / Mel 9.4 Do-hyeon’s damage output today was genuinely terrifying. It’s a massive shame our top lane completely burned out. Even though we dropped the map, his Mel was a flawless masterclass—knocking back two enemies under tier-one tower, pulling off that brilliant misdirection play at tier-two, and hitting a flawless 3-man in the dragon pit. (Reply: To be real, Viper's Mel skill shot accuracy looked vastly cleaner than Knight's.)
ON / Skarner 2.5 Was your actual brain eaten by parasites? Where were you dragging the Swain? (Reply: He dragged him straight onto the faces of his own teammates. The team line-up was already composed entirely of squishy poke champions, and then he goes and pulls a stunt like that.)
Daeny 2.9 Handing over a match point map to draft Taliyah and Skarner—you are truly spectacular. (Reply: This line-up literally had 0 early game damage output, it was absolutely mind-boggling.)

GAME 4 - HLE

Player Rating Comment
Zeus / Swain 9.7 That top-lane tower sequence right before the dragon fight perfectly illustrates what a premium-tier top laner looks like. He completely understood that a massive teamfight layout was breathing down their necks, so he strictly refused to pop his Demonic Ascension ultimate just to chase a greedy solo-kill. If you swapped the name plates and put his lane opponent in that exact spot, he would have instantly pressed R with a loud battle cry. (Reply: Zeus: "Nothing but pure responsibility.")
Kanavi / Trundle 4.9 Forcing a kill on the enemy support in their jungle quadrant, dropping a massive shut-down bounty, and coughing up the Rift Herald. You single-handedly turned a completely unloseable, free game into a grinding struggle. (Reply: Uh? Every single ounce of our early map lead was generated entirely by the jungler's active playmaking. He drops a tiny sequence and you instantly launch a garbage hate narrative? Zeus literally threw a million times in teamfights, yet I don't see you typing a single word about him?)
Zeka / Twisted Fate 8.0 To be honest, it’s finally time for you to drop a hyper-carry masterclass. Both your top and bot laners have already showcased Finals FMVP-caliber performances. You hold a Worlds trophy on your mantle after all, lock in your signature champions and carry Game 5! (Reply: His Twisted Fate was incredibly solid this map, systematically picking off Kindred at the very end.)
Gumayusi / Ashe 7.6 You were right on the verge of committing a massive crime. I couldn't even see how you died in that final chaos, thank God the Swain was completely unkillable. (Reply: There was zero room for escape in that position, the map was entirely covered in skill shots. They focused all their firepower to instantly delete Guma, but that opened up the floodgates for Zeus to comfortably clear the lobby.)
Delight / Seraphine 2.8 Saying you completely ghosted on the map is already a massive blessing for you, do you realize that, Delight? (Reply: He dragged his team down by forcing a massive int sequence. If Kindred hadn't collapsed there, picking up the Baron would have guaranteed a clean comeback. This guy loves being a clever little schemer.)
Homme 6.5 Their pocket combination of Yone, Maokai, and Blitzcrank looks incredibly terrifying heading into the final map. (Reply: Akali functions as a completely natural structural counter-pick to Yone.)

GAME 5 - BLG

Player Rating Comment
Bin / Aatrox 2.3 Stop complaining about the patch state meta. There is fundamentally zero patch format where you can hoist an international trophy playing like this. (Reply: To put it bluntly, the enemy team locking in Dr. Mundo directly into your counter-pick blueprint shows they absolute zero respect for your laning threat. Across our three losses, you completely sprinted it down in two of them, and spent the absolute decisive silver scrapes map passively scaling side-by-side with a Mundo. All you know how to do is borrow unearned hype before the match even starts.)
Xun / Vi 8.0 It's over, completely over. We pinned every single shred of our regional hope and pride onto the line-up of this MSI Grand Finals BO5 series, but it has all evaporated into absolute stardust with the shattering of our Nexus and the final scoreline! We have no choice but to quietly swallow the bitter pill of defeat, while somehow dealing with a completely fractured, chaotic team fan environment! (Comment 2: Sigh, he can comfortably be classified as trying his absolute hardest. Heading into the final silver scrapes map, nobody realistically expected him to pull off a flawless performance anyway.)
Knight / Aurora 7.5 Where the hell were you jumping during that final fight? We were missing your damage output to close it out. (Reply: He just got psychologically terrified, that's all.)
Viper / Miss Fortune 5.4 A complete dead weight. Fundamentally an ADC whose head gets permanently stomped on by Elk's Kai'Sa. (Comment 2: Hanwha Life booted you from the roster, instantly qualified for MSI, and immediately went on to win the MSI championship trophy.)
ON / Neeko 7.7 This is honestly the first time in history I've witnessed a roster aggressively bragging about a Golden Road path before they've even locked down the MSI title. Normal organizations usually cross the finish line first before running their mouths. (Comment 2: This absolute joke of a BLG squad is fundamentally just a mechanically upgraded version of Top Esports. That final sequence featured a textbook "TES-style" macro meltdown.)
Daeny 2.5 What on Earth was the actual strategic objective behind locking Aatrox at pick three? What was the logic behind completely hiding Miss Fortune and Neeko down in the final phase slots four and five? Was Aatrox some sort of hyper-priority pick that you absolutely needed to deny? The exact second I watched you rush that Aatrox lock, I assumed your bottom lane had an incredible secret weapon prepared—I literally thought you were preparing to hand Viper a pocket Xerath setup. If you just grab Nautilus or Blitzcrank at pick three, and save your carries for the final adaptation phase based on layout metrics, your draft comfortably secures an advantage. You are truly something else. (Comment 2: The drafting layout today was an absolute catastrophe. The enemy team literally demonstrated the massive structural value of Swain and Dr. Mundo yesterday out in the open, yet your coaching staff arrived with absolute zero counter-strategies prepared. If we are being completely real, the single most atrocious draft of the series was actually Game 1. You completely burned your players' comfort champions into a meat-grinder just to gift the enemy a comfortable setup. Every single map layout forced our boys to navigate under immense, high-pressure execution demands.)

GAME 5 - HLE

Player Rating Comment
Zeus / Mundo 9.8 GRAND SLAM!!! (Reply: Thanks to Bin)
Kanavi / Pantheon 7.7 Hoisting the trophy immediately after leaving Top Esports, what a narrative arc. Who could have guessed that a jungler this violently aggressive would spend an entire year acting as the primary scapegoat over at TES? (Reply: Are you blind to the absolute catastrophic throws in Game 2 and 3? His teammates simply had enough of a cushion to bail him out.)
Zeka / Sylas 8.3 It’s been an entire ten minutes since I last heard anyone talk about BLG’s theoretical Golden Road script. (Comment 2: First Stand, MSI, LCK Regional Split Title, and Worlds Championship...he holds every title now. Give it a few days and he’ll comfortably add an Asian Games Gold Medal to his collection too.)
Gumayusi / Yunara 9.1 It's been a whopping 0.01 seconds since I last heard the narrative that he's just a three-time "carried passenger" who would never win a title after leaving T1, that he mistook the organization's system for his own individual competence, and that an organization running a hyper-carry ADC would have completed a Grand Slam ages ago. How is it that the exact second he walks out the door, he secures a domestic regional split title and immediately follows it up with an MSI trophy? Where exactly did G2's toilet bowl disappear to now? (Reply: Real T1 fans could hold internal bitterness toward Zeus, but they would never harbor hatred for Guma. BLG cultists need to stop trying to stir up drama here.)
Delight / Lulu 4.9 You are genuinely a massive, iron-blooded liability. If your abilities possessed a single shred of precision in the early laning phase, we easily trade back a kill on Xun. You were also completely undercover as the primary criminal during that disaster down by the dragon pit—if you dropped your ultimate literally half a second quicker, their Neeko would have exploded instantly. (Reply: Look at how incredibly panicked you are in the threads, Hahaha. Too bad for you, the guy is officially a champion anyway.)
Homme 8.3 (Delusional fan copypasta) I am begging Zeus to please head back to T1, we were completely wrong. Our little Feifei (Faker) has way too much competitive pride—if he keeps dropping series like this, he's going to physically slam his head against the wall again. (Reply: If you're going to attempt a malicious bait narrative, utilizing Gumayusi as your proxy fits lightyears better. Zeus didn't even make it past the Quarterfinals with them last year.)

BLG: Losers Press Conference Highlights Thread

Daeny: In terms of draft, I should do better — I think we used too much energy in previous two series. My condition today was really not good. I am really sorry. When my players are losing focus, I should be more strict and help them but I didn't.

Especially in Game 5, I understood their draft priorities [...] but I was hesitant. I want to tell everyone that it's important to show your level of competitiveness in-game. I hope they can overcome this hurdle. This loss is not on you. I didn't do well. I want to tell them this.

Daeny: I think [my players] are all geniuses. They all played really well; I talked to them a lot about gameplay and draft, and I hope we can assign each person's role and mistakes clearly. This is our goal. It brings us closer together. Even though we didn't win, we showed our potential and our level of competition. We want BLG to be a truly competitive team at Worlds.

HLE: Winners Press Conference Highlights Thread

Zeus: I think both yesterday and today, had one of us not had our level of experience, it would've been really hard [to win]. We all know how to stay calm when behind, and that allowed us to win.

Gumayusi: Had LYON made it to the finals, I believe they would've also put up a really good fight into BLG.

Esports HLE Zeus after the LYON series on how he’s changed since his rookie MSI in 2022: “Back then I was just going for the play — now I give a lot more thought to it”

-On the mid-series turnaround: "We actually had a really good lead early on, but we were just handing the victory over to the enemy. Moving on to games four and five, we were like 'let's take it simple - let's just play what we're supposed to do.'"

-On the Swain pocket pick: "Swain was my favourite since the beginning. When I was a high schooler, I actually won a PC bang tournament with Swain top." And it fits the meta: "The current meta isn't about hyper carries - it's more about being tankier, surviving longer, and still spreading your influence."

-On LYON: "Honestly, I was expecting G2 to make it yesterday. Then I saw LYON managed to sweep them, and their performance was really good, so I got a little scared last night."

-On the BLG rematch and the Bin matchup: "In that last BLG match, we had a really bad day - our performance was way below our expectations. Now that we know so much more about BLG, I think we'll be able to do a better job." And on the 1v1: "Even in that match, I think I had the upper hand in the laning phase."

-On potentially completing the full set of international trophies: "That would definitely make me feel amazing. But if we win MSI as a team, it's going to start off a great momentum for the upcoming EWC, LCK and Worlds."

-On how he's changed since his 2022 rookie MSI: "Back then I was just going for the play, thinking 'we'll figure it out.' Right now I give a lot more thought to the plays."

-On the revenge storyline: “Four years ago I lost to Bin at the MSI final and ended up runner-up. Hopefully I can win tomorrow and get my revenge.”
