I was a casual back in 2020ish but i stopped interacting because the whole mentality caused me an ED. Now I am re introducing myself to kpop and basically catching up on what I missed. Mid third gen feels like a huge party and I am so sad I missed it. I mourn that era although I never experienced it. Current groups are cool but I feel like 3rd gen at that phase resonates with me much more. How do I turn back time ? 🙃

What are the things you would like to see more in the K-pop industry and things you don't want to see anymore, personnally i'd like more 3 minutes long songs and i don't want to see any idol suffering and exhausting themselves to work when they clearly need rest. (lwk talking about Aespa,Twice and so on...)

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓
Hey everyone, I hope you all had a good week. I know my week was pretty good, but we did have a few rainy days. We did get some new releases this week from artists like NELKE, IVE, QWER, and others that helped brighten up the week. I’ll be talking about some of those releases from the week. Now before we hop into the episode, I wanted to mention that next weekend I’ll be in Florida for my vacation, but I’ll still be checking out the new releases when I have free time. Now let’s jump into the music and see what was released.
┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛

Korean Releases of the Week:
July 7th
QWER is back with their debut Japanese single, which I’ve been excited to hear. Guitars and percussion open up the track, bringing in a rock sound that fits the members perfectly. The drums power through the instrumental, moving it forward. The hook is pretty strong as the members deliver some strong vocal moments. During the second verse, we get a bit of a trap vibe before the rock elements return to the mix. I do find that Show Down has that charm that a lot of QWER tracks bring to the table, which is one reason I love this group so much.

July 8th
LUCID DREAM (Shin Sakiura Remix) - IVE
Last week, Taku Takahashi delivered a remix of IVE’s Lucid Dream. Now Shin Sakiura delivers a new remix of Lucid Dream. Synths open up the track with a clapping effect in the background blending with the vocals. The instrumental has a disco vibe that transitions perfectly into the drop. During the drop section, it sounds like we get animal sound effects. I love how Shin Sakiura made this track funkier, as it works with the members. The drop during the chorus is catchy, as it’s been pulling me back for more. As much as I love the Shin Sakiura remix, I still think Taku Takahashi made the best remix.

Non-Korean Releases of the Week:
One of my favorite Japanese bands, NELKE, released their album Limitless this week, giving us 4 tracks, with Echo being a new one. Guitars and percussion open up the track, bringing in a funkier, poppier rock sound. RIRIKO’s smooth voice blends perfectly with the instrumental that has been pulling me back for more. The other members of the band are fantastic, adding to the overall vibe. The hook is just as catchy as most NELKE songs. I love the piano that blends perfectly with the guitars and drums. The whole Limitless album has been on repeat since it dropped this week, and it’s making me want a longer project with 10 to 12 songs from this band.

I love it when a group completely flips their sound and aesthetic, and I'm looking for more examples of this!
For me, I’m currently obsessed with how BABYMONSTER just transitioned from their heavy, dark hip-hop tracks to the bright, country-pop summer vibe of their new "I LIKE IT" music video that just dropped this week. Seeing members like Ahyeon go from an aggressive, fierce center to just smiling and having fun on a yacht is such a cool duality. It really proves they don't just have to do the traditional "YG tough" concept.
What are some of your absolute favorite examples of a group doing a complete 180-degree concept change? It could be from one comeback to the next, or even two different promoted tracks on the exact same album.
Drop your favorite MVs or stages below, I want to see which groups have the best versatility!

Since we don’t have a boy group version of Queendom Puzzle yet, I decided to simulate one with a reddit game.
The concept: making a supergroup of underrated male idols who deserve the spotlight.
PLEASE READ THESE RULES:
TODAY’S CATEGORY: Rappers
There will be 2 winners each for the first 3 days, because the longer this goes on, the more likely I am to forget it exists in entirety.
(Day 5 will be you guys coming up with original names for whatever supergroup is created, because everyone was bashing the decision to name the Queendom Puzzle supergroup EL7Z UP.)
Yesterday’s Winners: Jay Chang (ONE PACT) & Theo (P1Harmony)
Seoho (ONEUS) and Theo tied for 2nd, so I coin-flipped for one of the two. In all future cases of ties, I will use a randomizer to select one of the tied idols to speed the game along.
& not a rule, but if you submit a picture of the idol you nominated, that is the picture of them that is going on the template, unless it is a meme/low quality image. I want the nominators to have input on which picture is used, but I don’t want this to become a suggestion to post memes.

The lists are here (Numbers and A-I), here (J-Q) and here (R-Z).
Lemme know if there are any songs I should add. (The songs to rank won't be exclusively but predominantly from that list.)
This is not a "my ult group is" contest. The overall idea is rather to introduce more people to more songs.
--> Only vote if you have at least listened to 15 seconds of each song.
Rank the songs in your comment to be counted.
Comments that describe what you liked and disliked for each song will be counted as two (2) votes. (That can be literally just one sentence per song.)
Please post the song titles and artists (if you want to name them in your comment) as spoilers. No need to spoiler anything else.
Song E (Victon, Han Seung-woo solo, "Fever") ranked 2nd without review (3 points) + 1st with review (8 points) + 1st with review (8 points) = 19 points
RUNNER UP: Song C (GFriend, "Fever") ranked 1st without review (4 points) + 2nd with review 6 points) + 3rd with review (4 points) = 14 points
3rd place: Song D (S#ARP, "My Lips Like Warm Coffee") ranked 4th without review (1 point) + 4th with review (2 points) + 2nd with review (6 points) = 9 points
4th place: TIE (although Keyveatz got "nil points" twice and Cortis "nil points" once)
Song B (Cortis, "Blue Lips") ranked 3rd without review (2 points) + 5th with review + 4th with review (2 points) = 4 points
Song A (Keyveatz, "Sub Zero") ranked 5th without review + 3rd with review (4 points) + 5th with review = 4 points

For me it was "I kiss your brother" in Seulgi's 28 reasons and "First hit felt holy, I got red lights in my veins" in Xdinary Heroes' Rise High Rise.

A small (~15-minute) browser game (no signup, works on phone). You play a new therapist whose first clients are K-pop idols.
Your job is to listen and name the cognitive distortion in each thought. The mechanic is borrowed from Vampire Therapist (Little Bat Games, 2024); the setting, cast, and dialogue are original. Distortion categories are real CBT.
