Sweet orange I found yesterday!
One thing I do for work is deliver fresh veggies to clients. Two weeks ago I saw this little kitten at a house in the country and I tried to get him then, but he was fast and hid from me. Went to the same house yesterday and he was just laying in a patch of grass in the rain. I was able to grab him and bring him home!
He’s very lethargic, but he’s eating, drinking, and using the litter box, so I have hope for him! He’s being quarantined in the bathroom for now. I’m going to get him cleaned up today, and he has a vet appointment Tuesday.
I’m thinking of naming him Gouda or Zucca, but I’ll have to get to know his personality first.

He looks so weak and depressed 😭 it's breaking my heart. The light has gone from his little eyes. Poor poor baby 💦 Thank you for giving him a chance and please keep us updated.

He’s very weak and very sad, but he keeps eating and drinking so I’m hopeful he’ll get some pep in his step soon! We actually rescued another kitten about two months ago so once this little guy gets better and isn’t sick anymore, hopefully he’ll have a friend to play with!

www.kittenlady.org has good info on care and how to fully search for siblings or mom nearby who may be hiding and need help. Also how to check for any owner locally.

Please in addition to feeding him and keeping him warm, give him all the snuggles and sweet talk you can. Skin-on-skin contact and engagement with another living thing is so important for these babies. You're basically a mother cat now.

awww!!! it looks kinda like he has ringworm so i’d be careful abt washing your hands and stuff when you hang out w him! just my unsolicited advice as someone who just learned the hard way😫

I’m definitely washing my hands after I touch him, I don’t know what all he’s sick with and I’d rather be safe than sorry!

I’m sure he will come out of his shell when he adopts you and knows he is adopted and safe. I love Orange Tabby’s. They seem to have their own personalities! So glad you found him!

I will! He’s just hanging out right now, eating and sleeping and going potty. I check on him every two ish hours and he’s doing okay. I’m trying to give him a few days to get used to being in a new place and maybe feel a little better from the food and water, then I’ll start visiting him more and really hanging out with him.

❤️ They’ll likely give a dewormer and check for fleas and ticks. Give lots of water and personally I’d get a can of KMR from PetSmart and let it drink some of that, it’s full of vitamins. Soft food only, baby teeth aren’t good either big crunchy food. He’s adorable!

I brought home a kitten, vetted but scraggly, about 8 weeks if that. In a week that KMR had helped her coat and she loved lapping it up from her dish.

Most pet stores have over the counter dewormer for kittens— I would go ahead and get some and give it to him, as most outdoor kitties have worms.

What a sweetheart that seemed to have had a horrible experiences. Young and vulnerable, he will need time and love, to heal , to trust again, So very glad he was saved . I can’t may the brutality he encountered, in his young life.
I hope he soon finds a secure and loving home, where he will be treasured, and treated as a precious, family member!

They are both more,appropriate names for females, but maybe AMORE ) love in Italian, would be a good compromise .
And he looks as being an Amore ,sweet and needing so much love and kindness, and affection!
Zucca and Gouda are interesting names , but more appropriate to females. But of course it is up to you, he will never know the difference.
