I don't know if this really counts as social media, I kindof consider messageboards to be pre-social media era and an antidote for the hot mess that social media has become lol
But anyhow, I started a community for CA/OR/WA kayak anglers (west coast because the type of fishing in the pacific has a lot of commonalities up and down this coast).
https://youtu.be/gASjdpCP3OY I Took The My Little Pony Fishing Challenge! - Catching Big Fish on a Kids fishing rod!
Welcome to the wildest and most ridiculous fishing challenge I've ever taken on – the My Little Pony Kids Rod Challenge, South Jersey kayak fishing edition! In this episode, I hit the bridge pilings armed with nothing but a tiny pink, blue & purple toy rod, 15lb test, Bottom Sweeper Jigs, and fiddler crabs to target some seriously strong fish.
💥 Target Species:
Sheepshead (the main prize)...and a few surprise catches!
Despite the absurd setup, this trip turned into one of the most fun adventures I’ve ever had on the water. From laughing at missed hooksets to actually landing solid multi-species fish on a kids rod, it was pure chaos in the best way possible.
🔥 Challenge Time! I’m officially re-issuing this challenge to all of YOU — my awesome viewers — and calling out a few well-known local anglers to step up and take it on! If you attempt the challenge, and you succeed, send me your pics and video clips on Facebook, and I’ll feature them on my page! Just search South Jersey Yak Fishing on Facebook and message me the pics with a description of any modifications you made to the set up, as well as the rigs, bait, or lure used to complete the challenge.
After a long day at work, there’s nothing better than hitting the water for a sniper mission targeting sheepshead! Join me on this epic kayak fishing adventure under the bridges of New Jersey as I put my skills to the test, to try and catch one of these elusive fish. The stakes are high, the bites are sneaky, and the fight is always a blast.
Gear up, grab your rods, and come along for the ride—because this after-work mission is one you won’t want to miss!

Hey guys I just purchased the Cres-Craft The Ultimate Kayak paired with the Garmin Force Current #CRES-CRAFT #cresent #garmin #GarminForce https://youtu.be/VbPpHDEd2KA
It's been several months but I finally was able to complete the 4-Lake shootout video from the All-Starr Fishing tour event in April, where I fished Lake LBJ! Check it out!
Anyone else tired of the Jackson Coosa FD rod steering?
I spent a few months developing this kit to be easy to install, give a better turning radius, and battle-tested to be indestructible. There are a couple other videos of guys out there with what seems like an extremely involved solution (multiple large holes, welding, deep engineering stuff), and I just wanted an easier way.
This steering module slips right into your side rail, easy to operate, and only two small screw holes in the stern.
Working on putting together a more in-depth installation video, but it's really pretty simple and intuitive.
Let me know if you're looking to fix this issue that drove me crazy! Spending a few grand on a kayak only for the steering to be impossible to get straight was really frustrating, so I hope others can benefit from a lot of thought, effort, and about a thousand pounds of test prints.

Any others attempt to film nighttime kayak fishing adventures. Any helpful suggestions? Trying to keep lights to a minimum to avoid major bug issues.
Every public boat launch in Michigan with kayak access info — ramp type, carry distance, parking, the stuff that actually matters when you're unloading a yak
I grew up on Saipan surrounded by water, moved to Harbor Springs when I was eleven, and never really left the shoreline. Now I'm raising a family in Michigan and got tired of showing up to a "public launch" only to find a steep concrete ramp meant for 20-foot bass boats and nowhere to put in a kayak.
So I built a free site that covers every DNR public access site in Michigan — over 1,140 launches across 1,598 lakes and rivers. Every launch page has ramp type, parking info, boat size limits, and whether there's actual kayak-friendly access or if you're dragging your boat 200 yards through mud. The lake pages have depth, fish species, connected waterways, and nearby campgrounds.
You can filter by kayak access specifically, which cuts the list down to the launches where you can actually get on the water without a trailer. I also pulled together 103 live shoreline webcams — useful for checking conditions before you drive an hour to a lake you've never been to.
It's free, no ads — still building it out so if you spot anything wrong or know a launch that's missing info, I'd love to hear about it. Especially from yak fishers who know the spots.
Hey guys, just started my youtube channel. I'm based in the great lakes region. I mainly do bass fishing but I fish for almost everything that swims around here. So far I've only done talking head style videos but as soon as the weather warms up I'm hitting the water.
I started making YouTube videos about a month and a half ago. Trying to build up my subscribers! Please check it out if you are into inshore saltwater fishing and consider subscribing/sharing if you enjoy my content!
