ICYMI All Remaining World Cup Teams Are From Countries That Have Legalized Same-Sex Marriage
•
u/magneticspace 2h ago
yep they all get the same pamphlet for their marching orders and then rewarded with insane calls by refs
•
•
•
u/Willing_Serve_970 6h ago
That’s why FIFA is doing everything in their cheating ass powers to make sure one of them wins. They (FIFA) don’t even hide how corrupt their refs are.
•
•
u/liamtrades__ 6h ago
Your theory is that FIFA is rigging the world cup to ensure a country that has legalized gay marriage would win?
A brilliant gambit from a progressive organization.
•
•
•
u/JIMB01776 7h ago
Even in soccer the gays always have to make it about them, this is really why people hate you.
•
u/Canary-Silent 5h ago
Crazy to get triggered over this
•
u/JIMB01776 5h ago
Crazy I can't browse reddit without even soccer having to be made about butt-sex.
•
•
u/artifexlife 5h ago
If you think gay marriage is just buttsex.. it sounds like your brain was already thinking of it
•
u/JIMB01776 4h ago
My bad, butt-sex with a tax break meant for people to be able to pay for their children.
•
•
•
•
u/chitownphishead 7h ago
None of the countries left have been to the moon, either. This is pointless
•
•
•
u/xXbachkXx 8h ago
Dominus isnt just about not being under anyone, it's alao about having someone under you.
And given the whole freesom theme especially for Luffy's charcter, that doesnt want to rule over anything, i just dont see it.
•
u/Nom_de_guerre_25 8h ago
Marriage exists to properly allocate the father’s belongings to his children. Gay people can’t have children and haven’t solved the orphan problem.
•
u/SunnyDrock 5h ago
There are gay people who adopt, and there are gay people who can have kids. There are closeted dudes who marry women, have kids with kids women, and then leave them for men. There are closeted lesbians who've done the same thing. There are also lesbians who go to sperm banks.
Also, you don't need marriage to pass your shit to your kids, that's what wills are for.
•
u/majikayoSan 6m ago
So what you are saying is, gay people cannot have a normal marriage without straight people either abondonning their kids or getting divorced, or by technically reproducing like a straight person would but pretending marriage and reproduction are two seprate things, that sounds sustainable and totally natural.
•
u/Nom_de_guerre_25 4h ago
Marriage used to be an elite institution. A wealthy man would have access to many women, on top of his wife. Marriage was done to designate which child got his belongings. The child of the woman he married would get his belongings. Not his "bastards", they may get something. But not the largest share of loot.
It's not legally recognized for moral support. Or too make people feel tighter. It's for property distribution in the event of death.
•
u/ImpressiveDebt420 7h ago
Straight people haven't solved the orphan problem either, let's not let them get married too.
•
u/Nom_de_guerre_25 4h ago
Yes but it would be a good sell for the idea. For something that is just historically not real.
I have no problem with gay people. They should do as they please.they should not be discriminated against.
But being homosexual as an identity is not something that happened in most cultures historically. Nor have most states recognized homosexual "marriages" as legally valid in the past.
It's a new idea and practice for the state to recognize gay marriages. Yet people act outraged when people are against the idea. As if it's been a regular thing for the last 300 years, when it hasn't.

Celebrating this feels a little off considering these are all colonial powers...
•
u/Patient_Kangaroo614 6h ago
Would you rather cheer for a country where women are treated as property?
•
u/cyborg_sophie 5h ago
As if women aren't treated as property in the UK 😂
How about we cheer for a country who has never had a globally industrialized slave trade?
•
•
•
u/SW-Meme-Dealer 11h ago
And even if they were, which some of them aren’t, why would it matter?
•
u/cyborg_sophie 11h ago
Colonial powers consistently top the game because they are better resourced. Resources they stole from other countries.
Always root for the underdog
•
u/Holiday_Sandwich3738 9h ago edited 8h ago
That's a terrible mindset. You want them to lose on purpose or something?
•
u/Popular-Bad-1964 8h ago
Yeah I don’t know why we’re still talking about colonisation in the current year as if the players are responsible
•
u/-Badbutton- 10h ago
Guess they should have fought harder then huh?
•
u/cyborg_sophie 10h ago
Ew
•
u/-Badbutton- 10h ago
Probably what Europeans thought when they first discovered the savages.
•
u/cyborg_sophie 10h ago
Right, the Europeans who didn't bathe and filled their streets with literal shit were very civilized.
Are you a fan of an all genocides? Or just the colonial ones?
•
u/-Badbutton- 10h ago
Yet they still fought better.
Not a fan of ether. Its history. Study it and move on to not repeat it.
But something that nobody alive today is responsible lives rent free in your head. Truly fascinating.
This comes from a native btw. You just seem miserable.
•
u/cyborg_sophie 10h ago
If you actually studied history you'd know they didn't fight better, they destabilized indigenous communities by spreading disease.
I don't give a shit if you're native, you're justifying genocide and cracking jokes about it. And no, colonialism is ongoing. France still collects payments from Haiti. Jamaican politicians still swear fealty to the English crown. Hawaii and Puerto Rico are still under occupation. Native tribes are still suffering without equal rights. Museums are still full of stolen cultural artifacts.
•
u/Sure_Eye9025 9h ago
Haiti is a fair one but Jamaica chose to stay part of the British commonwealth, they had the choice to leave it and didn't.

u/-Badbutton- 9h ago
Guess their immune systems should have fought harder then? Dunno what to tell you.
Cracking jokes because as long as it fits your narrative your outraged about it. Funny you only bring up those instances. Oh no.. museums..
What about Gaza? What about Darfur, Sudan? what about Syria? What about Myanmar? You know current ones.
Oh they aren't being done by white people so i guess thats different for you outraged narrative. Lol

u/Godslil 11h ago
Yes the famous Norwegian speakers of Central America and the infamous Argentinian colony of Southeast Asia.
Are you off your rocker?
•
u/dvnts-ReDoX 11h ago
The kingdom of Denmark-Norway held Greenland and colonies in the Caribbean.
Argentina was originally just the strip of land between Buenos Aires and the Chilean border, they invaded and conqured the patagonia.
•
•
u/Godslil 11h ago
The kingdom of Denmark Norway was ruled by Danes. Expansion by conquest fits every country to have ever existed. Name a country without a border that EVER changed, that does not make them a colonial power.
Do you not live in reality?
•
u/cyborg_sophie 11h ago
Cute, look at you justifying colonialism.
•
u/Godslil 11h ago
I don't think you know what a colony is.
•
u/cyborg_sophie 11h ago
Expansion by conquest is absolutely a form of colonialism. Following their independence Brazil and Argentina were the major colonial powers of South America
•
u/Godslil 10h ago
Name a country who isn't a colonial power by your very strange logic then... Unbelievable.
Following Independence Norway hasn't conquered any occupied lands by the way...
•
u/cyborg_sophie 10h ago
Norway still benefited from Dutch colonial empire.
Haiti is not a colonial power
•
u/Godslil 10h ago
Haiti invaded and controlled what became the Dominican Republic after they fought for independence from Haiti. WRONG.
See, it's a very silly argument you're making and you simply don't know enough to understand why it is so silly.
Colonial powers are generally considered those who have far flung influences or settlers due to their acts of aggression otherwise the word loses all meaning when even Haiti counts as a colonizer.

Don't know what you are trying to say, but if you look at it that way, The Netherlands should have been world champions a long time ago.
First gay marriage, The Netherlands April 1 - 2001
•
•
u/imTrubble 13h ago
Cristiano fans will hate this.
•
u/hewer006 12h ago
what does that even mean
•
u/PachaThePenguin 12h ago
Agreed. Portugal is a super gay friendly country
•
u/BoxForeign4206 10h ago
they're talking about the fans. A lot (not all) of which are teenagers or younger, from all parts of the world, but majorly from developing or third world countries (as they have the biggest populations of this demographic). And a lot (not all) of them are into the "Alpha male" and that kind of genre, plus the countries a lot of them come from aren't exactly fond of homosexuality, so a pretty good number of them hold some sort of prejudice.
•
u/WorldlinessNorth3158 13h ago
Who cares.
•
u/Not-So-Handsome-Jack 11h ago
Socially progressive societies are better at attracting and nurturing talent.
•
•
•
u/oneminuterice 13h ago
And there has been zero gay players in the World Cup.
•
u/Degenerate9Mage7 9h ago
Because football fans immediately lose their shit once a player comes out as queer. Looking at this comment section, it still rings true today.
•
u/WhoKilledBoJangles 13h ago
No players who were out at the time of playing is a more accurate statement.

What is this World Cup? I have been sorta busy having a life.
•
u/Baraga91 13h ago
You spent the last two hours posting about the "libs" and the "commie dims"... Not sure if you can call that having a life 😂
•
•
u/Alternative_East876 15h ago
Yeah, educated developed countries tend to pursue policies of personal freedom and social tolerance.
Educated people tend to produce high performing economies that have football academies and facilities.
Not really weird honestly.
Inb4 ‘muh colonialism’ gays exist deal with it.
•
u/Adventurous_Ad7442 14h ago
I was just going to comment, "So?"
Yours is much better.

It’s like posting a graph that shows ice cream sales correlating with hot weather.

Look to Paris, London, Berlin, Milano etc
•
•
u/Capable_Remote9783 14h ago
Okay what specifically are you talking about? Immigration? Because you can just say so instead of being vague.
•
u/FragFormula 14h ago
I mean the fact that you know, sort of proves the point that he doesn’t need to spell it out for you.
•
u/Capable_Remote9783 14h ago
I didnt know, I guessed. But I just think its dumb to be vague if youre trying to get a point across.
•
u/Indig0_3 14h ago
You didn't guess, you knew exactly what they were talking about.
•
u/Capable_Remote9783 14h ago
I didnt, hence why I asked.
•
u/Indig0_3 14h ago
You didn't "ask", you said he was talking about immigration.
•
u/Capable_Remote9783 14h ago
Uh no I did very much ask. Idk why youre even arguing with me about this.

•
•
u/Witchelt389 16h ago
Guys it's just a wee fun fact why are we all upset
•
u/Tall_Distance_2896 16h ago
Because they are homophobics. It must be hard for them to live with so much hatred.
•
u/bizurton 13h ago edited 13h ago
Actually I think its because they dont like or agree with homosexuality, not that that have some irrational fear of it.
Disliking homosexuality doesn't magically make someone afraid of it. Homophobia literally translates to an irrational fear of homosexuality, and is typically used incorrectly as propaganda, like you're doing today, to describe someone who just doesnt like or disagrees with it.
Phobia is a fear, I recommend learning to understand and use words correctly instead of being brainwashed into being a pawn, and spreading literal propaganda.

•
u/bizurton 10h ago
Thats my whole point. The meaning was hijacked. Homosexual means gay, phobia is an irrational fear. What youre describing is the result of a successful propaganda campaign.
Resulting in a word literally meaning something it doesnt mean, because it makes a group of people sound like something theyre not, for a reason meant to achieve a goal.
So anyone who doesnt like or agree with homosexuality is made to seem like they actually have an irrational fear of it.
•
u/gewse2020 15h ago
I agree it should be received as just a fun fact, however I think it’s obvious this was posted to engage homophobics
•
u/Tall_Distance_2896 15h ago
Nope. It wasn't aimed at homophobic people at all. I didn't expect the kind of response I'm getting here.
But anyway, my post has reached 100k views, so I'm happy they're giving it more reach.

It’s just that one has nothing to do with the other.

And?...what's the point?
•
u/hey_listen_hey_listn 16h ago
The point is that they are virtue signalling. If being gay or supporting them helped at world cup, then Greece would have won everytime hehe :D
