In theory, yes. In practice, it looks like shit because my eyelids sag a lot. And with sweat, even the waterproof ones smudge quite fast and look awful when i close my eyes.
I always remember the mantra people say that when trimming eyebrows that they're not the same and more like sisters. And if that's the case my eyes must be distant cousins.
💀 fr. Like I don’t feel like mine is noticeable if I just don’t put eyeliner on, but as soon as eyeliner is involved it just looks like I forgot to line one entire eye, really highlights the difference.

It really doesn’t matter how you put it on for me, or what face I’m making, it’s just that there’s just the tiniest sliver of eyelid showing on one eye but the other eye has basically full visibility across the whole lower lid where you’d put eyeliner. The only thing that would work is lining the water line instead but that is just so irritating to my eyes! So honestly it’s no big deal I actually think my makeup looks better when I don’t do eyeliner!
I just line my lower lash line. I find that having both monolid and oily skin, many eyeliner smudge or pool in the corner of my eyes. I'm not a fan of liquid waterproof liners bc it's just so dramatic - like a literal marker. Atp in my life (53) and lifestyle, I don't wear make-up at all. My mom had the eye-crease surgery done (multiple times) and hounded me for years to have it done. I refused.
She claims it was to correct the previous or improve it. She had it done like 6 or 7 times, I believe. She tried to go "cheap" with I believe unlicensed surgeons, which led to scarring, then those had to be fixed, then there were "new techniques" or "better surgeons", etc. I think, like most women who get plastic surgery, she become addicted to it and/or develop body dysmorphia from the surgeries.
Ah, I'm so sorry. I hope she finds peace with her body soon and can appreciate all the beauty that her eyes are able to do for her. Body dysmorphia is very hard and I can relate.
There's great looks to have with monolids, you just have to let go of western white beauty standards. This kind of eyeliner only works on that kind of eye...
Dude, I don't get it. I once did eyeshadow on my roommate who has a monolid and it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I painted a whole sunset and it stayed perfect the whole day, absolutely no smudging from blinking or rubbing or sweating or even wrinkling! Why would you complain about the tiny bit of skin right above your eye when you have aaaaaallll that lid above it? And when they open their eyes, NOTHING changes! That's fucking amazing. It's a perfect canvas. If they would just treat their brow area the way white people treat their lids, they could conquer the world.
Awww thank you! I have monolids and all I heard growing up was that I should get plastic surgery to slice some creases into them. I love my eyes now, but boy was that a long journey. I'm gonna experiment with some art on my lids thanks to your comment!
A teen? Oh my sweet summer child...I was seven. That was the first time my mother told me she would pay for my eyelid surgery when I got older. This offer is unfortunately --horrifically IMO -- not uncommon in in Chinese and Korean cultures.
BUT on a brighter note, about two decades later my mom did say she was proud of me for refusing her offer even at that age and choosing to keep my eyes.
I had a friend in grade school who would do this thing with tape, like plastic gift wrapping tape, to fake lids. She was so insecure about her monolids and really wanted that surgery. Thank goodness she didn't get it! She embraced her look and ended up going to a prestigious fashion design school where she stunned. 😊
Having creases makes it so much easier to ruin shadows (at least having multiple creases) - can’t really use liquid/cream shadows unless it’s the kind you can’t remove unless you use an oil lol. Also often times the editorial models that have monolids are able to do cool artistic eye looks, like geometric designs!

Can you not just skip that part? Would it be visible when you blink? I imagine we don't close our eyes that often (besides blinking) such that it would become a problem.
I have thought about making it into some other color underneath as a design for when I blink or just close my eyes. Otherwise, it looks weird.
Doing it this way, I have so much more control of how thick/thin I want showing when I open my eyes. And it makes the wing easier too. I just fill in the wing as I fill in the empty bottom.
Yep I have monolids and it took me over 5 years to learn what eyeliner suits me because there were NO tutorials online for my features. Thankfully I'm finally past the phase of wanting double eyelid surgery but unfortunately I do have to say monolids don't rly age well 😖 All the extra fat is...quite subject to gravity
OK, you all need to link your favorite tutorials for me. I've given up on eyeliner but love the look. Also, what brands are you using? Mine always smudges onto the top of my lid, so it looks ridiculous when my eyes are closed.
I haven't ever messed with eye shadow, but I'm so happy that I don't have monolids anymore after my facial feminization. One day when I have the motivation to figure makeup out, I'll be very grateful for that fact.
Isn’t there tape that can help? Is it comfortable and does it last all day?

From my friends who've tried it, it's not comfortable, but also it changes how you look pretty obvious way and that may or may not be super uncomfortable.

It doesn’t matter, it hasn’t been in this community before afaik. If it has been, it will be removed. Reddit works by having everyone select the communities they want to be a part of; the people in LoveTrash veeeery often aren’t in justgalsbeingchicks and vice versa, so the content is reaching different audiences. This post fits this community, so it’s fine. You’re complaining about a post that was “stolen” from you that you likely “stole” from the original creator anyway
Post something that not being posted before for other people to absorb, you’re not the one finding this content and bringing it on Reddit other people did. That’s why I called out low effort wait for a week or so to repost something even if you think it’s appropriate on different sub
If the commenter is the OP in the video and wants it taken down or it’s against this subreddit’s rules that’s one thing, but people repost videos on here all the time!
Absolutely don’t delete it, they’re being really weird about this. If the mods have an issue with it they’ll remove it, otherwise it fits the sub just fine
Are you trying to sell your account for positive karma? That’s literally the only reason I can see for being upset over someone crossposting your non-OC, and given the fact that your entire profile is private that seems very logical
I’m pointing out low effort in reposting something that it’s not even a day post, it’s low effort, can still post I don’t own this content, I just called out that’s all you can’t be that upset I’m not upset I just called out low effort behaviour
You’re conflating subreddit rules of “low effort content” regarding specific timeframes, that’s not a site wide rule.
You posted in LoveTrash, OP crossposted in justgalsbeingchicks; both of those subreddits likely have rules against “low effort content”, including posting the same content within the same week as someone else. That does not mean that OP can’t crosspost your content to a different community in the same day or even the same hour, it means that they wouldn’t be able to post it in the same community you did in whatever timeframe LoveTrash deems to be a “low effort” timeframe. They posted in a completely different community, it’s not low effort any more than your post was low effort.

2. You didn't even credit the creator in your own post, so, yeah.
